- Find out about Living Learning communities at your kid's college. Apply to one of them that your child can tolerate, write the essay and make sure they get in. You can find out which dorms each LLC is housed in, whether or not they have A/C, how old they are, etc. LLCs typically have better dorms and most kids don't want to do this extra step.

- Accommodations: Get a doctor to provide a note that you need A/C, humidifier and an air purifier. Some schools won't allow those things without a doctor's note. Of course, you need a doctor friend or lay the groundwork with your pediatrician beforehand. Allergies and asthma are the typical reasons..

Heaven forbid your kid experience the tiniest bit of adversity in college without having to commit a form of fraud.

Fraud? Why is this fraud? Way less fraudulent than the fake ECs you used to get your snowflake to into a 'top SLAC'.

The PP who advised going to a doctor didn't seem to indicate that the presence of an actual medical issue was particularly important in such machinations. People with actual health conditions don't need to (a) see a "friend doctor," (b) "lay the groundwork with their pediatrician," or (c) have specific health conditions identified beforehand (allergies and asthma). To clarify though, if your kid has a legitimate health condition, by all means see a doctor and get an accommodation. On the other hand, fabricating a health condition for the purpose of getting a better dorm room is gross, if that is indeed what PP was proposing.

And what's this "snowflake" business about? I'm not the one advocating "gaming the system" because their kid wants a different dorm room. Is "snowfake" just your default insult anytime you disagree with someone?
