Here's an idea: Maybe part of the process of buying a gun should be a mandatory drug test.
If we say it's constitutionally legal to hold drug use against someone when they apply for a gun then it's not infringement, amirite? |
It says a lot about his character or lack thereof. |
Ha. You guys are too much. |
Because it’s not just about illegal drug use and addiction, it’s about unlawful use. So you could legally be allowed to take Xanax, but if you take too much, that’s unlawful, or if you are addicted to Xanax, that’s disqualifying as well. But you can’t test for everything which is why it’s self declared. |
I think you're forgetting that a plea deal had been agreed to and was reneged upon at the very last minute by the Republican prosecutor after Republican House members complained because they wanted to use it as an election issue. |
That’s not what happened. The judge refused to ratify the plea deal because it was ridiculous and in the judges words, both parties had differing interpretations. The judge then asked the parties to go back and negotiate a new deal and Hunter Biden refused because the new deal included jail time. That’s the whole story and accusing the prosecutor of partisan bias makes you the same as Trump. |
That is not at all what happened!! |
No. It's a pretty established fact that even your interpretation of events supports. Hunter did the crime so whatever but the entire prosecution is very clearly politically motivated and full of prosecutorial shenanigans. |
Of course it’s weird! This guy is a coward. To have your daughter take the stand for you and get cross examined for a slap on the wrist gun charge is shameful. Take the punishment and don’t put your daughter through even more of your BS. If I was Joe Biden I wouldn’t even speak to him after that. |
That's exactly what happened. As a former Republican, I find this prosecution infuriating and disrespectful on so many levels. Shameful. |
No, it isn't. Read up on what happened.... ABC summarizes it pretty well. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/hunter-bidens-plea-deal-fell-apart-now-dramatic/story?id=101671356 |
Next time Joe Biden says “I’m proud of my son” I would like just one of the Democrat media members to for once do their job and ask the logical follow up question - “why?”
|
I hear you. Hunter is a disaster (and that's an understatement) and would be a source of shame for most parents. But when you've already lost two children (and a wife), you are not most parents. When Joe says things like "I'm proud of my son," I think he's really saying them for an audience of one: Hunter. I think he's deathly afraid that he will lose him too. I have a close family friend with a son who showed a lot of promise but descended into drug use and is in and out of jail. It's like living with an open, painful wound every day for the parents, who are loving, supportive, and raised two other healthy and successful children. I think we should give Joe some slack on this issue since we haven't walked in his shoes. He will be punished enough by what's coming down the pike for Hunter--potential serious charges (including jail time) in the gun case and an upcoming federal tax case in California in September. |
For all we know both Hunter and Trump's non-American wives are agents for their countries, married them to access US government. It sounds conspiracy theory but I've read too many spy thriller novels. |
The plea deal was normal for these charges. The political intervention by Republicans was the ridiculous and outrageous manipulation of the justice system. Stop your gaslighting. All of the political intervention has come from Republicans. |
