Back on subject, the GOP is planning a series of undemocratic moves in order to destroy democracy, and they won’t even be upfront with what they’re planning. |
Please cite specific examples of whatever it is you're talking about - full quotes and citations. |
The topic of the thread is Project2025. there are links to the document in this thread. there are links to discussion and leaked information in this thread. If you go through it, you will have the answers you seek. |
I'm new to this thread as previously I tried to block all of this out. This past weekend I started listening to a podcast about what Trump's second term could be like and had to stop 1/3 of the way through because it was so disturbing. I truly think there will be blood on the streets.
If you don't believe the scare about Project 2025 and others here's a good synopsis of it: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/29/opinion/project-2025-trump-administration.html It will chill you to the bone. |
You’re not grading a paper here. Do some of your own work. |
Hmm, usually when something is "secret" there are no citations. You can Google Project 2025 and download it for free. There is enough in there to worry anyone who is interested in freedom and democracy. I shudder to think what is secret. |
I'm trans and I am terrified of Project 2025. https://www.damemagazine.com/2023/08/14/the-gop-has-a-master-plan-to-criminalize-being-trans/ |
Everyone should be afraid. No one is safe under a fascist regime; it just takes some time to get to the “safe” people. |
Exactly. The keep finding new people to persecute. |
And ultimately there are always new purity tests. Also a lot of the rubes overestimate their value to the fascist machine and the level of protection they seem to assume they will be entitled to should the GOP’s hateful new fascist government come to pass. The IVF decision should flash warning lights for those who think that a fascist GOP government would be an unconditionally good thing. |
Why? I’ve become convinced that most right wingers don’t understand that asking for quotes and citations implies that you’ll engage with the supplied material on at least a surface level, but you all brag that you don’t even click through. But for those who want an idea of just how bad, how reactionary, how shocking this would be, someone at the New York Times read all 800+ pages and summarized it here, with quotes. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/29/opinion/project-2025-trump-administration.html?searchResultPosition=4 It’s still just under opinion and not the front page news the GOP’s fascist playbook should be but at least they’re getting the info out. |
I've read the entire thing. But if you're going to make idiotic claims, as above, then be prepared to cite and quote from the actual document. Amazing that you feel your rubes should just take your word for it. All you have is hyperbole, with no direct quotations. And btw? Project 2025 isn't even endorsed by Trump. He had nothing to do with its creation. |
Good grief. Could you *possibly* be more melodramatic? I hope your fainting couch and smelling salts are nearby. ![]() ![]() |
Page 5. All of it is blatantly unconstitutional and fascist. |
Where's the idiot who claimed Project 2025 promised to "round up black people into camps"? Remember that?
Which exactly why you need to provide direct quotes when making your asinine claims. Then the rest of us will be able to see just how grossly you've exaggerated everything. |
