Project 2025 if Trump were to win

Which exactly why you need to provide direct quotes when making your asinine claims. Then the rest of us will be able to see just how grossly you've exaggerated everything.

So you have never read a history book apparently.

That’s the kind of slippery person we’re dealing with in the GOP. There’s always an excuse, a subtle change of topic or outright ignoring all the direct quotes that are bad enough.

I truly think there will be blood on the streets.
If you don't believe the scare about Project 2025 and others here's a good synopsis of it:

It will chill you to the bone.

Good grief. Could you *possibly* be more melodramatic? I hope your fainting couch and smelling salts are
nearby.

I love our country and the GOP wants to destroy it. I’m sorry that you prize your own beliefs above everyone else’s and celebrate what the GOP wants to do.

I'm trans and I am terrified of Project 2025.

https://www.damemagazine.com/2023/08/14/the-gop-has-a-master-plan-to-criminalize-being-trans/

Everyone should be afraid. No one is safe under a fascist regime; it just takes some time to get to the “safe” people.

Oh I absolutely agree with you. They won't end with LGBT people. They're just starting with us. Trans people are mentioned on page 1 of the document so they're definitely targeting people like me first but that doesn't mean anyone else is safe once we're all in the conversion therapy camps (now with razor wire!).

It's certainly not just you. I'm a straight cis white male and Project 2025 scares the bejeezus out of me too.

Yes I agree Trump is a disaster but I just find it hard to believe all this project 2025 stuff. Maybe some nut jobs are planning it but they won’t be able to execute it.

You “find this a bit unrealistic.”

Voters like you used to say the same thing when people like me warned you that the GOP wanted to overturn Roe. Roe is overturned.

People like you downplayed any threat of violence from Trump’s followers. January 6th happened; the coup failed by the skin of its teeth.

People like you said of claims that the GOP was becoming increasingly fascist were overblown; school book shelves were bare in some states in response to broad categories of books being banned.

Trump is promising violence on his enemies. He’s promising to invoke the Insurrection Act. The GOP already has lists of people who are willing to come take these formerly non-political positions after Trump fires them all (that’s in the article from PBS). The Heritage Foundation means business on this: they have a website, a coffee table book of their plan, they have a twitter account, they maintain their Wikipedia page.

Do you like the general premise of America? Non-retributive, non-corrupt, apolitical, a functional government that gets things done? Don’t call this “unrealistic.” Understand that the GOP is telegraphing their goals to you and every other voter in the plainest way possible.

Honestly I am more worried about wars than abortion.
Call me egocentric but I live in CA so it’s not going to be a problem
And the coup was overturned easily
Again, not saying Trump is great. But it’s not the end of the world if he wins.
Of course no sane person will vote for him but I am just trying to say that panic mode isn’t quite helping

You won’t have access in California once Trump’s MAGA goons enact a national ban. They will get rid of the filibuster to do it.

What bans will these "MAGA goons" enact? Bans on plastic drinking straws, gas stoves, plastic bags, microbeads, styrofoam, "exotic animal" ownership, and private health insurance like democrat control-freaks?

I like seeing the propaganda victims spraying not only their victimhood but also the fact that they either don’t understand what their party is planning or that they fully embrace the fascism.

A few localities banning the use of plastic bags to reduce plastic pollution and the government slowly phasing out microbeads to help prevent microplastic pollution isn’t the same as the establishment of a state religion and women’s rights being erased. I’d say you knew that, but there’s a non zero chance that you do not, in fact, know that.

So you are for further damage to the environment and wiping out animal species entirely. Got it.

It’s good to remember that a goodly number of Christofascists believe that the end times can be brought faster if the earth, God’s creation, is destroyed. Just like they only support Israel because they need Jewish people there for the end times to occur. That these people are in any position to make policy at all is horrifying, but Project 2025 is just another tool in their arsenal to make the rapture happen.

(Cue the whining “I was never taught that! And I’m a Christian of good standing!” Not all Christians believe that, but if you don’t know as an adult Christian that that is what motivates some Christians, you’re not being honest with yourself.)

Which exactly why you need to provide direct quotes when making your asinine claims. Then the rest of us will be able to see just how grossly you've exaggerated everything.

These people are paranoid and scary. No, just because someone has a different opinion on abortion or doesn’t want a gay 12 year old getting her breasts removed doesn’t mean they are “Christo fascists” who will “put black people into camps”.

Here is the thing. If they don't want an abortion, they don't need to get one. If the gay 12 year old isn't their kid, it is none of their business. In other words, THEY are the ones who want to intrude into other people's lives and control them with THEIR ethos. What happened to the libertarian streak of the GOP? It seems to have been replaced with the "Government is here to control your body" which is quite the reversal.

Does it mean most voters are nut jobs? Or just that this forum is an extreme bubble?

It’s a bubble and an echo chamber.

Ok. So you are cool the government allowing me to buy up assault weapons bombs and tanks? It my property. If you don’t like tanks and machine guns then don’t get one.

I’m sure you also wouldn’t mind if I choose to share alcohol and smoke weed my 12 old. Maybe we’ll go get tattoos and nose jobs while we are at it.

If you want to buy assault weapons and tanks, go for it. The second they are used off your property, it becomes a problem.

Frankly, I don't care if you want to give your kid alcohol or weed, but you are likely killing their brain cells, and yes, the government would also consider this to be against the law.

Until Roe was overturned, getting an abortion wasn't illegal. Now, in some places, it is.
And...there is no doctor who would treat a non-binary kid with irreversible drugs or surgery before they were 18, so that is a red herring.

You just want to launch ad hominem attacks. Try engaging with the links provided and defend the actual words and plans of your monstrous, anti-democratic party.
