I agree with this. People may dispute it because they don't really know what is going on, but in my opinion, after watching years of games with local girls, many of the top girls are from public schools. |
The same handful would consider both Visi and PVI so there has to be a different reason ... |
GC also is a target for many Howard County kids and they get Hero's, M&D, and Skywalkers girls. That's not something usual for Visi. But lacrosse is a big focus for these girls when choosing their high school and GC has stability while Visi doesn't. |
Where does one live that PVI and GC are both actual possibilities? Do they have access to a helicopter? I can't imagine trying to get to GC from the VA side of the river, or PVI from MD. |
| Agreed. PVI is a great option for Loudoun county kids or western Fairfax. Don’t see anyone driving in from Maryland to PVI. |
| VA girls would consider BI over GC. |
| The point was that no girl applying to Visi would consider either GC or PVI given the distance and other factors. |
| GC is in Olney, right? Beautiful campus! Not accessible on the daily from VA. |
Don’t disagree with this, but SR snags a lot of them. |
Only if they can’t get into Visi! |
Western MoCo or southern FredCo across Point of Rocks would be an easier commute than GC or Visi |
| Where are Pride and local Heros girls going? That seems to comprise the top local talent in DMV? |
| If any live West of the D.C. beltway, PVI will be in the mix. |
There is also at least one local top player on M&D, who I would guess will be attending public. I think the Hero's girls are mostly headed to private. Pride is a mix of public and private, with probably more than 50% headed to private. Don't forget about Stars, which has at least a few of the top local players who I think are staying public. Not sure whether any of these girls will be attending Visi. |
Top Stars girls always seem to end up at SSSA |
