Don't leave us hanging. Spill the beans!!

M&D DC? Is that the new Next Level Girls program?

This is not happening. M&D owner stated as recently as last year he’s not interested in the DC market.

Certainly possible he changed his mind but it would be surprising.

Plus he’d probably rather have one of his other brands here anyway like 3d or NXT

Makes much more sense to have a known product here (Balto’s best) vs an out of town name many people don’t know. Regardless, with MC Elite’s collapse, a well run hs program in moco is a no brainer

If you know anything about lacrosse, you’ve heard of 3d or NXT because it’s a national brand. Plus, as “nations best” events grow though out country they will be even more well known. Nations best lacrosse events is owned by 3step, MnDs parent company. They want to grow national brands, not keep people attached to a Md based name.

I actually sent flowers to the mom responsible for working with TW and AH to start our YJMA DMV 2030 team to say THANK YOU. Don’t anticipate having any issues with our talented girls attracting the interest of recruiters 6-7 years from now.

Thought this team was based in NOVA. How big is the current team?

YJMA as a whole is based out of NoVa. The 2030 team was started by parents were looking to control a team and found YJMA to “host” them. Club leadership, nor the coaches, are not the ones with the contacts for fields at SR and GP, do your homework. Coaches r nice enough - W&M alums so know lacrosse. Recruiting director is a nice person, but did not play D1. Maybe by the time these girls get to HS YJMA will really be stronger, but they r not getting the same bang as YJ Spallina. 😂

I've heard this team has a small roster. Is this team looking to expand? Not really much information on this team on the website.

Where does this info come from? Very interesting take and not sure if it is negative or positive. Sounds pretty good to me. Lots of nice people who know lacrosse.

They have 17 on the current roster and won’t go above 20 as they are focused on playing time and development at this age. There are tryouts next month but if you are looking to join you should reach out to the club and meet the new coaches, who are both recent D1 women’s players. While parents plan parties and logistics they do not believe in parent coaching.

No dog in this fight but there were posts on this thread from last year that suggested this team would be ranked 50+. As of today they’re ranked 17th so I think whatever they’re doing is working well relative to expectations from this board.

If they don’t like the fields the club typically gets, what happens when the logistic leads don’t like the coaches? Just not a typical model, but club lax keeps getting crazier.

You mean what happens if we run into another situation where the coach is like what we had in 2030 MC Elite?

The important thing for them is to get into the top tournaments. The YJ brand should help in that regard. Are they in Live Love Lax, Lax for the Cure and Summer Genesis?

Yes, we are in all those plus Beach Blast.

Oops sorry not Genesis, G8.

Ha, I was waiting for someone from BLC to post this. Yes both BLC and MD United beat M&D today. Will be interesting to see what happens to M&D’s #1 ranking.
