Where are the TLC crew members who were in their house for years and/or saw all the footage to put it together. They could make a lot of money on a tell all book.

TLC really exploited this family. It made them millions and left them in shambles. I can't believe the poor kids forced to work for hours being "on camera" for years and not having substantial pay out.

That's a book I would read. I feel like anything book that came from the family would be like these statements- who knows what actually is the truth. Maybe I'd read one from Cara, Aadan, or Joel- those are the only three that seemed to have stayed out of the spotlight entirely.

People are talking about the military like it has super high enlistment standards at present.

The military is hurting for recruitment. A large percentage of young people are too overweight or obese to meet the basic physical fitness requirements to get into basic training. There are actually pre-military boot camps young people can attend to get up to the enlistment level. With the very high rate of medicating children in recent decades they have also had to relax requirements in that regard, because otherwise they would be screening out a large group of potential recruits.

They can always drum you out later on a psych discharge, might as well see if you are fit cannon fodder first.

This is all true but just like if you fail your physical health evaluation you can’t enlist, if you fail your psych evaluation you also won’t be able to enlist.

I completely agree those kids should have had a substantial payout. I really hope they still have access to some of that money.

As for TLC exploiting this family, yeah but. Kate and Jon would have split no matter what. Or be trapped in a marriage where they hated each other. Collin would still have had his issues and Kate would still be Kate in her treatment of him.

I just hope the money paid for their private school and they got a good education. I hope they enjoyed their trips. I hope they had a nice college fund. I hope they have something. Because their family was going to be dysfunctional and messed up anyway, might vs as well get something from it.

Marines is the easiest branch to get into and far less selective than most.

No, coast guard is selective. Army and Marines are not as hard.

You clearly don’t know much about the military.

No the Coast Guard is not the easiest in of the branches, they actually have fairly high standards for academics as does the Air Force - typically the two highest.

People like to dis the Coast Guard but in peacetime they are the ones still out there risking their lives to save souls at sea under conditions that a lot of soldiers would want nothing to do with.

Is the psych evaluation requirement different for each branch of the military? I think people are saying he has to pass the psych evaluation to be eligible to enlist.
