I'm suspicious my husband is cheating anyone used a private detective?

Yes.

My friend did. He told her that just about 100 percent of wives who suspect their husbands are having affairs are correct.

She's in another state, so no recommendations. But her first PI was a bumbling fool, and her husband spotted him and went after him with a baseball bat. The second guy was better and used a lot of electronic surveillance.

Check out surviving infidelity.com for recommendations.

Just put a voice activated recorder in his car, under his seat. That's how you bust him for $35.00 at best buy or office supply store. I caught my DW that way.

Such a great tip!

Unbelievable. If you suspect this and would be hurt if it's true, just ask him. He may admit it and then you either deal with it together or the relationship falls apart. If he denies it and you can't get passed your suspicion, then the relationship also ends anyway. The only reason to do the detective bit is if you break up and will fight with each other for financial reasons based on notions of fault.

I was a child of parents who each hired detectives to spy on each other -- whatever satisfaction or advantage in a divorce proceeding you think you may get by this in most instances will be outweighed by needless escalation of bitterness and distrust in other relationships for years to come in your lives. I'm not saying your approach is never appropriate, but very rarely worth it.

Before you decide to put tape recorders in someone's vehicle, even if they are your spouse, you best check with an attorney as you are looking at breaking state and federal wire tap laws. I have personally witnessed former spouses who went to jail for doing this.

haha. just ask him.

Don't you think that OP has probably already asked him? What an idiotic post.

Your parents' problems had nothing to do with hiring PIs.

Only if they are caught, and their spouse presses charges. Unlikely to both here, especially if they are guilty as suspected.

I don't understand the purpose. If you suspect it to the point where you're willing to hire a PI then any and all odds of this relationship "working out" are slim to none. She has no trust in him whatsoever and once he finds out a private dick is on his talk he'll have no trust in her - so why not just end it already.

But it's okay for the NSA to wiretap all of us? F**k that, put me in jail.

She needs to find out the truth so she can make informed decisions. In theory I understand what you're saying, but you've obviously never been in this situation. I have. My lunatic ex gaslighted me for years while he led a double life of sorts. I couldn't prove it, and so I stayed in my marriage. Unhappy and scared, but I had young kids and couldn't prove anything. I wish I had hired a PI years ago. I would have divorced him instead of wasting five more years of my life with a cheater.

PP, some people only care about being vengeful to the exclusion of even the wellbeing of their own children. Hiring a detective to spy on someone is an act of aggression. It's no different than stalking IMO. Should be illegal.

What do you propose when someone suspects their spouse is cheating?
