In theory I understand what you're saying, but you've obviously never been in this situation. I have. My lunatic ex gaslighted me for years while he led a double life of sorts. I couldn't prove it, and so I stayed in my marriage. Unhappy and scared, but I had young kids and couldn't prove anything. I wish I had hired a PI years ago.
