Thank you! |
Why? It looks like we have had 1/2 inch of snow and the roads are clear! |
Up county. Boyds, Poolseville, etc... |
How much snow did they get up county? I haven't complained bout any of the previous delays or closures but this is just getting unbearable. I just don't see anything that could possibly deemed a safety risk today. |
I assume the snow came as a surprise and crews have to clean the school lots. |
Clean the lots? It's 1/2 inch of very soft snow. |
You could sweep it with a broom! |
I haven't been out. So I don't know. Nor do I care, as a 2-hr delay doesn't bother me. And yes, I work outside of the home. |
But it still needs to be done, right? Now, get on it. |
I work out of the house too and yes it does bother me! You are lucky your work seems flexible. Mine isn't and its a big problem. I have back up for days off but surprise 2 hr delays are too. So yes this bothers me. |
I still find it amazing that after all of these years dealing with Mo Co's snow policy, people still can't get it together. I attended Mo Co schools during the 70s and 80s. We NEVER had off - even during some of the worst storms. So we carpooled with some SAHMs who could handle the snow. And if we couldn't get there, we hung out at someone's home if our parents worked. So stop expecting the system to be your daycare. |
What was your method of determining this? |
Agree. Absurd. |
I don't expect the system to be my daycare - my kid goes to a private Montessori for which i pay a lot and work my ass off (and no I don't have a high hhi) - I expect them to have a certain amount of full actual school days. And as I mentioned before, I have solid backup for closures but not surprise delays. And no, our school is small and doesn't have any "sahms" to help out. You need to stop using "sahm" as your daycare service. If I was one of them I'd tell you to deal with your own child! |
