| I haven't read the whole thread, but this situation has me angry and scared and I'm not young. I'm past childbearing years. About a 1/3 of early pregnancies spontaneously miscarry. I am fearful that a woman would have a medical emergency, lose a baby and then be charged with murder. I don't think that's far fetched at all. To think that Texas will reward people who narc on those helping women leave the state to get an abortion is chilling. Most of these pro life people are absolute extremists. Many of the pro life women I know (and I was raised in a very Catholic family so I know quite a few) really like being a useful token for the patriarchy. |
What are you 7 years old? Don't take something messy and complicated and dangerous and extremely personal and use for your childish fantasy land. |
It's what the republicans have encouraged: very simplistic and not recognizing that women are people who have a human right to health care, even if they are pregnant. The simples will find out soon enough, when their 12 year olds have to give birth and their sisters and daughter and wives and mothers die. |
Go to flippable and find some close races and donate there. That's what I did. |
So. . . .nothing then? Because even if I do as you suggest, that will not help anything immediately. |
. I was curious so I looked it up—over 30% of all births in the US are via c-section. But sure, abortion isn’t healthcare. Every pregnancy is a huge risk to a woman’s health and well being. Abortion bans kill women. DP. DP. |

An instagrammer I follow us having pregnancy complications. A very much wanted pregnancy that may not work out. She talked about likelihood of miscarrying and all I thought is I am glad she doesnt live in TX or OK or LA. She talked openly about last time this happened needing medication (I assume to help pass the fetus) and almost required a surgical procedure if that didnt work (aka abortion). She talked about how emotional it was. To think someone in TX could sue her over this is sickening
I wish things like this were more well known. |
+1 Same. Many women have had D&Cs. |
Nope, you don’t get to force your religious beliefs on others. Stop trying to Taliban our country. WOMEN are living, breathing people with the freedom to control their own bodies and have access to medical care. |
The women who have had abortions, or who have had to have abortions, or who TFMR should all be speaking up. Or someone should be leaking the info of the forced birthers who have done the above. |
Depends on your definition of ‘is’ is, amirite? Is a thing halfway out of a womb a baby or a fetus at that point? |
The religious extremists that now run the GOP and the religious tribunal that we used to call the Supreme Court are banning abortion at all points and for any and all reasons. You can quit with your sad little red herring; women will die. Know that this blood is on your hands. |
How many weeks along is it? Was the zygote that washed out of your uterus during your menstrual cycle a baby? |
That is part of the s Ole of the question. The definition varies depends on who is answering the question just like gender. Pro-choice should also apply to medical staff. OB/GYNs should not be forced to perform abortions if it goes against their beliefs, and patients should know this upfront about their doctors/nurse. |
No - the question is about women's liberty. For their bodies and medical care. |
