Such an important part of your success."

This was Brandon’s comment on Jen’s “content” me course post. 👆🏻

Of COURSE Brandon is thrilled that she learned to monetize: putting her hair in a ponytail, cooking breakfast, throwing games at walls, and basically everyday living activities...SOMEONE has to support the kids...and what income is he bringing in? They have FIVE kids...he'd be crazy to rail on her for supporting 6/7 of the members of their family. He's certainly not.

And you know this how? I think only Ben and Remy were still minors when the divorce happened and thus any child support would have been for them only (unless otherwise agreed upon by them, their attorney and the judge). Or, per a divorce settlement agreed to by both B and Jen, they split/gave up different assets, income streams, requirements, and agreed on Jen pays for food, B pays for school clothes. Jen keeps the house, B pays for college tuition. Jen pays for everyday incidentals, they both chip in on things like cars.

Just saying no one knows who is and how much anyone is paying and what arrangements and agreements were made. B pays $ and Jen gets to claim all of them as deductions on her income tax. I don’t care either way, but legally there are so many ins and outs, and they had to agree on it with a judges approval.

Obviously I don't *know* anything for a fact. But from what I read, Jen is shilling big time and monetizing stuff...even Brandon said so. From what I read, and listened to on the podcast, Brandon has been sort of checked out of life for the last 5 years and not pastoring, and not really had a full time job. No full time job=no money. I don't care about the legality of it...someone has to pay for kids even if they aren't minors. And that someone seems to be Jen given she is making money. From all I can gather it looks like she's been busy making money the past 5 years and he was busy self-destructing.

And that was my point. You don’t *know* but you stated it as fact. That’s all.

And this is not Jen or Tyler or a fan girl. Jen lost me years ago, and I forgotten all about her till I found DCUM and stumbled on this thread. And it sucked me right in.

well...pretty much 99.9% of this thread that has 'sucked you right in' is theory and speculation. Since I'm neither Jen nor Brandon nothing I is fact...but if it helps you, yes, those were my opinions I stated. I was not their divorce lawyer or judge. IMO Jen is making the money and has been for years. Therefore it makes sense that Brandon is supportive of her shilling. Kids need shoes...momma needs levis...

Around 2015 Brandon announced that he was not longer going to take a salary at ANC and would instead be focused on starting a non-profit (which would eventually be Legacy Collective) and also pursue a media career with HGTV with his wife, which was pretty short-lived. I don’t know if he was making money running LC but in the years leading up to their divorce Brandon wasn’t bringing in a lot of money anymore and was in fact spending a lot on a lot of expensive toys.

Brandon is way too low-key to be a TV presence, much less star. Jen's over the top behavior and persona is good for reality TV but perfect for shouty, narcissistic social media.

I still can't believe she is selling a course about faith deconstruction. It's so strange. The other courses look...palatable. The Nester lady is a tone-deaf choice for minimalist design.

Did Brandon collect a salary as a founder/leader of the Legacy Collective?

I think a lot of us, in fact, the vast majority, came to this forum because we couldn't believe all the hype around Jen and the utter lack of pushback or criticism anywhere. Wading into her comment section was like going into a room of attack dogs. And seeing our otherwise-sane friends liking her posts made us think...am I seeing what I'm seeing?

She created a Potemkin village with her fake happy family and fake robust, healthy church.

And why is she still shilling Better Help? Kristen Howerton all but crapped all over them in her podcast, and aren't she and Jen the bestest of the bestie circle? Kristen said that she worked for them briefly, and was appalled at her huge caseload of clients and the lack of follow up. She felt that they were borderline harmful to people seeking therapy.

Yea, but Better Help is cutting Big Sis some big checks. That's what really matters.

I was thinking of Better Help when I read about the woman who killed all the people including babies in that horrific car accident in LA. She was truly mentally ill - she has been having terrible psychotic breaks since 2018.

But she was being medicated for bipolar etc. Then during the pandemic, she began seeing a new online therapist and/or psychiatrist who told her all she had was anxiety so she went off the strong meds and got worse and worse.

Not saying this was Better Help. I have no idea. But it made me wonder how often that has happened to other mental health patients due to lockdown?

Sure, it’s great more people are getting therapy etc etc. But teletherapy is the online dating version of therapy if there was no prior relationship. It’s a poor poor substitute for the real thing and should only be a last resort, not the panacea they act like it is.

Jen was looking for someone as opposite Brandon as she could find.

Both middle aged men trying to be cool and failing cringingly.

Yes, that’s what I was trying to find a way to say. Both men are remarkably insecure in their identity for their age, hence all the attempts it look cool. They’ve appropriated these personas that they think are cool and relevant. Sadly their authentic voices get obscured in their role playing. I believe both have real value and beauty. Hope they settle into themselves eventually. It’s a long life to live always posing.

When my husband is trying to embarrass our teenagers ngl, he pretty much acts like Brandon.

He’s the male June George.

Fire Engine Red Jen with Kevin Jennings will help you do something or other for the low price of whatever. This is just getting embarrassing.

Wow she actually posted something nice about Remy, and a picture of she and Remy holding hands and cuddling.

The Remy post was precious and reminds me how Jen got into my heart years ago. Unfortunately my trust has been so broken by her preening and sales wizardry that I’m too cynical now to really believe anything she says or does.

Don't be fooled....wait for it...I'm sure she posted that in prep of something that's just around the corner regarding Remy.

Sincerely,

The same person who posted all the bullet points on the Hatmaker's

I’m waiting for it. As soon as I saw that post, I knew the next “I just cannot” post is just around the corner.

And poor Remy who is just cuddling with her mom and now becomes the subject of a post her mom shares with half a million people. Imagine just wanting a nice, safe snuggle with your mom and being used for content in the process.
