So you think College coaches will pick a player because of the badge on a kit when two players are equal?? You must be a special kind of stupid. Not only that, you think GPA doesn’t make a difference to coaches????? LMAO. Only if the player is a USYNT member will they look past OR you have a lot of money and don’t need scholarship funds. Those are the only exceptions. Newsflash for you delusional ECNL/GA parents: College coaches have been coaching and recruiting for many more years than your kid has been playing club soccer. They know what they are looking at. Also having scholar athletes on the squad is a good look for both the school and coach. Coaches go through hundreds of emails a day from recruits. P4 coaches especially. And you think they really care about some “Thanks Coach” post on X or even see it for that matter. Unless your child is USYNT, they are a dime a dozen. Sorry, that’s just how it is. It’s what separates your kid from the others is what matters and it’s not the “thanks Coach” post or “Hey, look are this school that sent me a letter” post. No question ECNL is a better league by a fairly large margin but remember, Colleges recruit the player, not the team and not the badge. ECNL kills it in D1 numbers but that doesn’t mean the best GA players aren’t looking at the same schools either. If you don’t want to believe me, that’s fine. I know these things to be 100% true from experience and relationships. Just trying to help some of you out that are new to this. /ranr |
TLDR you seem like a dork. |
You seem like a parent who thinks kid is going P4 but should be going D3 (and there isn’t anything wrong with going D3) |
Jokes on you. I don't care what school my kid goes to as long as they're happy. |
Don't forget to share about the December weather in St. Louis. I think there's even a thread about it here somewhere ... |
doesn't appear to bother the amount of coaches who attend. |
Go read the thread. Talk to people who were there. Just a number doesn't reflect what actually happened because of the weather. |
Attend an event and show up for games is 2 very different things. I know some schools show up even if they have the next 2 recruiting classes locked up just to keep tabs on players, ie they aren't scouting new ones, at least in the oldest 2 ages and that's after watching recruited players games. |
our team had a great time there. don't see your issue or why this is now a topic on this board. |
It isn’t a mystery. Some teams have one of those three games canceled. Big deal? Still tons of college coaches and great competition for DD and her team. |
"Anyone else have the terrible experience in STL? Freezing, buckets of rain, canceled third game, hotels terrible. Why is ECNL continuing to force parents to pay and kids to attend these showcases in the midwest in December. Did anyone get recruited out of there? I hope so, I hope another family had a better weekend than we did. ECNL sucks" https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1245608.page |

So it's no big deal that ECNL scheduled an event in St Louis in the winter? The ECNL cult working overtime to dismiss. If any other league did this there would be 10 treads on how the sky was falling and how fast.
Girls ECNL cult parents actions are turning people off and enabling competitors. |
Not all "ECNL Parents" are in the cult. Unfortunately when there's high levels of competition some parents get crazy from the pressure and jump online to offload. I'm sure if they could they'd cleat up themselves but they can't so online comments are the next best thing. |
playing in that tournament was great for my daughter.it made her dig deeper into schools that play in that kind of weather. that she was looking at it was another piece of the pie in helping her find the right "fit" for her.there are 4 schools she likes that are in the north. it was a great part of her journey cause that was the the first time she played in that type of weather and realized it was too cold for her. |
It would have been much cheaper + more fon for the rest of the family if you took a soccer ball with you next time you went skiing and made your kid practice for an hour in the snow. |
