Girls on HBO

Does any like Girls (the show)? Personally I think it's not entertaining, though I watch occasionally. I also agree with the reporter who asked the cast what the point of all the unnecessary nudity is in the article below. What a strange reaction from the cast.

Were you trying to do a haiku? Because it's a bit off.

The show is basically a ripoff of Sex and the City, but with 1000x the whining and stupidity, and ugly clothing entirely from Urban Outfitters.

I'm not a big fan of Sex and the City, but I don't get the appeal of Girls - it's completely unoriginal.

Well it is one of the producers whom we see naked frequently. And she is not what you would consider beautiful. But I welcome that she shows herself like that because more women look like her than some of the slim actresses. What makes it unnecessary? The fact that you do not want to see a woman like that naked? I think it plays into the awkwardness of her character.

Check out Hank Steuver's take (spot on, IMO):

The show can be funny in terms of the characters exposing and reflecting the real-life attitudes of today, but they certainly are not sympathetic.

Google "Tina Fey Girls parody". You will cry from laughing so much. It's brilliant.

Love it except for weird sex scenes

I tried to like that show, I really did. But I agree, the reaction to that question was really strange.

Her reaction was strange. She went from neutral to defensive in 0.2 seconds.

I love it.

It was pretty awful in many ways and boring at the same time, so I stopped watching it.

I don't think Lena Dunham's reaction was so strange. She inferred (correctly, IMHO) that the point of the question was why would anyone was to see her nude. Given that unnecessary nudity is common and accepted by many as sort of a byproduct of the times we live in, she took offense at the idea that nudity is only for those with beautiful bodies. She was totally right to get angry. Do non-size 4 women not get naked? The nudity in girls makes a lot more sense than in game of thrones.
