| I travelled for business and stopped by Sephora to pick up some gifts - packed the store bag into the suitcase and did not touch it. Came home, unpacked, and realized that I was charged for 5 items, but there are only 4 in the bag. Sephora's CS told me to go to the store, but I physically can't do it. What should I do? It's an expensive product and I don't want to lose money. |
| Call the store? |
| If that doesn't work, dispute the charge on your credit card. |
Thank you! I just don't know how I can prove that they did not include the product. It was a mess in the store, everyone shopping, staff running around - they hardly remember anything. I will try calling them tomorrow. |
Thank you! I did not think of this. |
Challenge it on Cc. Call the actual store next Monday (after Christmas) |
|
I would think they will refund if you call the store. Usually if you just go back to the store with your receipt, they give you the item no questions asked. They will take your word that cashier made a mistake.
Try calling and in case that doesn't work, you can always dispute the charge on cc. |
| I would call the store immediately. I work in retail and sometimes the cashiers forget to put something in the customer's bag and then realize it after the customer has left. They wrap it and put it aside in case the customer realizes and calls back. |
+1 Don't wait until next Monday (wtf?)! |
| Definitely call as soon as you can. I've had good luck with stores fixing mistakes made by cashiers. |
customer service told you to go to the store and you just said, okay dokey? You didn't mention during that phone call that you were out of town so they could tell you what to do? |
| I've called before, even if it was Giant. they always refund the difference. |

When I called Sephora CS re: a missing item from an online order, they told me to go to the closest store to get a replacement item. I did that (at Pentagon City) and had no trouble whatsoever at the store. I brought my receipt and they took care of everything for me.
Then, to top it off, I received an email from Sephora CS noting that they tracked that I went to to the store (I am guessing by my original order #) and they wanted to see if everything worked out to my satisfaction. |
Yes. Why would you wait to call? The longer you wait the less credble you seem! |
| Call the STORE right away. They always replace or refund forgotten items, even if you aren't physically present. Don't wait! |
