Coaches want to win. The degree to which a coach is willing to put up with something (a crazy parent, behavior problem, bad history, grade in school in your case) is all dependent on how good the player is.

It is the Aug player's personal choice whether he wants to play UP in the older age group, and he must be accepted by the older age group coach. Nobody is playing down. Only the biobanding players who play in the next 12-month group are playing down. If you want to shame someone who plays down, that is your target, not the Aug. players.

Unfortunately for our August friend, the one rule I can see leagues implementing is allowing kids to play multiple age groups in a day as long as total minutes don’t go over a specific amount.

This will better allow clubs to address individual situations and give flexibility for a solution that is in the best interest of the player and teams.

actually impressed this person has continued for so long but you are completely correct. There's not much else to be said other than the new range is 8/1-7/31 and most competitive teams will follow that. No one cares about grades as that poster will find out soon enough.

Soccer as a sports is grouped by your age, not your grade. A genius might go to school early and by your definition, he is playing down. If you play in your age group, you are not playing down. If you play in the younger age group, you are playing down. If Junior plays in the Frosh team, then he is playing down. Obviously, nobody wants to do it.
