Again, super wierd that teams play for district titles and even if you lose, you can be put back into a state playoff. Most other states and sports certainly have district titles but once that happens, only the winner of the district advances. Shrugs shoulders.

This is the problem for all the sports in Virginia. The regular season means very little- all the teams make district playoffs regardless of how they did during the regular season/ non district games mean very little. The season extends for weeks. IMHO the district championship should go to the team with the best record in the regular season. Only district champs should make the regional tournament and only regional champs should make the state championship. You would cut weeks off the season and reduce the strain of coaches and refs and not interfere with graduation prom summer club etc

Yeah, screw the kids who want to play!!

LESS LACROSSE!
LESS LACROSSE!
LESS LACROSSE!LESS LACROSSE!LESS LACROSSE!
LESS LACROSSE!
LESS LACROSSE!LESS LACROSSE!LESS LACROSSE!

We are talking what maybe 1 game (maybe 2) for most teams and allows the season to end at somewhat of a normal time frame. This would allow various kids, particularly seniors, to enjoy their last couple of weeks of school before heading off to college or their next adventure. I can assure you not all the kids on the team feel more lacrosse is better.

It would also eliminate the participation trophy aspect of this.

Schedule is too long. We get it.

Big game tonight! Looking forward to watching Madison and Yorktown compete for a Region Title

This is some ugly lacrosse. Gonna wake up tomorrow and see “defensive battle!” and “goalie standing on his head” - BS.
These announcers don’t seem to understand that “in the crease” is a turnover.

Say good night Region D, gonna be a short stay in states.

Classic Yorktown the region sellouts. Two abysmal performances in back to back years. Have fun against Indy fellas! Good luck next year.

To be fair, the 2025 version wasn’t that great! Overachievers actually!!

Not quite as close as it would appear tho Madison was up by 3 with 3 mins left.

Silly statement. It was as close as it appeared. You play the whole game. YT scored two to close it to one late. Not like Madison put in their backups. YT had a man up after a Madison tripping penalty with 22 seconds left and could not get a shot off to tie. It was a VERY close game.

Agree; Madison appeared to be in control with 4 mins left. But despite winning the draw and having an opportunity to run the time down, then they chose to shoot, and then double-fouled the Yorktown attacker to give the Patriots an easy 2-man up goal. After that, they proceeded to win the draw, and instead of stalling, shoot again, and give up a goal on the other end. Madison won the draw again (nice work by their LSM) and still didn't run an effective stall, giving Yorktown one last chance after a tripping foul with 22 seconds left. D held up a man down for the one goal win. I would imagine that they will want to clean up the end of game strategy for states.
