If dogs toilet in your yard?

Anonymous
Inspired by the people walking thread.
Our neighborhood doesn't allow fences, but we are getting really tired of dogs toileting all over it (and having to pick it up when we garden or have our kids walk into it). We ask dog walkers not to when we're around, but don't have the capacity to be on stand-by at all hours.
Any suggestions for plants that dissuade, smell unattractive to pooches, etc.?
TIA!

what do you mean by "toileting?"

Do you mean "defacating?" Or "taking a dump?" Or "Having a poo?" Or "Moving its bowels" Or "Dropping a loan" or "pinching a loaf" or "dropping the kids off at the pool?" Or, more bluntly, "Taking a crap?"

Dog pee kills grass and poo is a health issue.

Spread cayenne pepper around the yard. Dogs don't like it and it will keep them out of the yard. It needs to be reapplied weekly. It doesn't harm the dog or the environment.

Since dogs don't actually toilet on a toilet, they have no choice but to go outside on grass and elsewhere. The issue is not the dogs being attracted to pooping in your yard, it's the human walking them that allows them onto other folks' yards. No, you can't keep 24/7 watch, but do you know which of your neighbors have dogs? You might go to them and gently remind them to ask their dog walkers to keep off lawns for their business.

OP here.
Sorry I'm not sufficiently crass, but I know everyone understood.
Completely realize, dogs need to TOILET outside - we had a dog previously and he was trained to go in a certain area of our yard before his walks and not during his walks. Consequently, excellent incentives for us to clean up, keep him targeted correctly, and not be a burden on our neighborhood. I only wish others....
Thanks for the sign and the cayenne pepper ideas!

It is only female dog pee that kills the grass.

Not sure I would react to pee. BUT if a neighbor walks their dog and you see their dog poop in your yard, I would scoop it, bag it, walk to the neighbor's house, knock on the door, hand it to them and tell them they forgot something. I have done this. Word will get around ~

Darling. "Toilet" is a noun, it's not a VERB. That's the point. Shitting is a verb. Crapping is a verb. Pooping? -- VERB. TOILETING is not a verb.

As a dog owner, it is entirely unacceptable when the poop is not bagged. Totally unacceptable, and it ruins it for the many, many responsible dog owners out there.

I support this response.

Also, this is correct about dog urine killing grass. Dogs don't have ammonia in their urine.

To the poster who sends a bill for resodding, I would love to receive such a passive-aggressive invoice from you. Handle things like an adult. When you do something like this, I will personally see to it that I defecate and urinate all over your lawn. Yes, I will bag my feces and throw it on your lawn. Yup. "It may seem like female dog urine causes more trouble to the lawn than male dog urine. This is simply because most females tend to squat and urinate in one place, while many males lift the leg and "mark" upright objects in multiple locations. The composition of a dog's urine does not vary that much between male and female dogs, especially when spayed or neutered. "

Confirm all dog owners are assholes and disgusting. You are the reason people associate the wet dog smell with Caucasians.
