A local personal trainer/motivator?

Anyone know of a personal trainer who would be willing to work like an "online" service, but a bit more personalized? I don't necessarily need to meet in person, but am looking to have someone who can check in with me and keep me motivated, critique the exercise I am doing an offer suggestions, perhaps diet advice. Pay is negotiable. I have looked at various online services but they seem impersonal and the reviews are mixed. If someone was local that would be ideal. They need not even be a certified personal trainer, even someone who loves fitness and wants to help motivate someone would be great. I'm 16 months post baby and regaining weight lost as a result of busy work schedule and not being consistent with diet and exercise. Family support is low and I need someone to keep me accountable and help kick my butt if I don't work out! Kind of like a really fit friend, but one who won't be nice and tell me it's ok to watch tv instead of going running.

Thanks for your ideas!

Edouard.Sooh@gmail.com. I'm down over 60lbs in one year thanks to him. If you follow his instruction you will get results. Even better, I am now completely self sufficient.

That's great! What kind of a program did you do with him? In person or online or both? What does he charge? Thanks!

I might be interested, I'm not a certified trainer but an avid fitness guy geared to weightlifting who has a pretty good understanding of fitness and training needs. I would be a great motivator and offer effective training programs that you can maximize. Being a busy dad with time constraints I have whipped myself into great shape over the years (15 yrs) so I can walk the talk, learning and teaching myself basically from scouring the interent for fitness tips and translating it into my workouts. Diet and nutrition part will not be my strongest suit if that matters.

We could do everything online which includes: email contacts with questions, updates, advice, a customized workout plan, form review via video, and full support.

If you simply want to lose weight by doing cardio and dieting, and don't want to touch the weights, I'm probably not the one for you. Far as pay, I wouldn't be asking for much.

I did everything. Cardio, weight training and nutrition. Edouard is really well rounded and has extensive nutrition knowledge. I particularly like the fact that he believes in natural sources for vitamins and nutrients & walks the talk. I actually trained along with him in the gym, in addition to email & phone support. He definitely didn't take it easy on me! I've learned so much over the past year and now train with lots of my friends in family. I still work out with him a few times a month because he is constantly evolving exercises and routines. I believe he takes his exam for certification in January sometime so his prices are really affordable now. It worked out to be about $30 per session in the gym. Email and phone support is a flat monthly charge (I paid $25). If nothing else you should contact him to see if he can offer what you're looking for.

DH and I have used Steve Poynter

He's great. Provides a diet plan and a workout plan for 12 weeks. Unlimited questions answered via email and lots of videos with instructions and advice. His workouts combine weight lifting, cardio and abs.

I'd like to learn how to lift. I'm not the OP, tho.
