Do we want to talk who commits the most murders in this country per capita now?

Sure, let’s have that discussion! You first.

This thread is about who made a political statement by killing Charlie Kirk.

No I think PP implied that white men are disproportionately involved in committing murder in this country.

I looked up the per capita murder stats and they say otherwise. I was wondering if PP wanted to have an actual discussion about per capita murder stats and cite his / her data sources. PP should enlighten us.

DP. White men are disproportionately more likely to commit MASS murder, school shootings, or high-publicity assassination type murders.

Because they spend more time online, not because they have more guns

Kind of feel this is a result of easy access to guns and ammunition

For most of history, nearly every home owned guns. And didn’t even keep them locked up

For most of the history they used to be pretty difficult to load up and kill a lot of people. That changed and it is much easier to do a lot of damage.

Yes, guns used to be respected, not treated like toys and given to pre-pubescent boys to play with. The Sandy Hook shooter had a similar, to take a phrase I think from Bill Maher, "ammosexual" upbringing.

The NRA used to be a gun safety promotion organization.

The death penalty requires certain aggravating factors that must be legally established. We have seen cases where a prosecutor over charges and wastes time on aggravating factors they cannot prove which undermines the entire case (Casey Anthony is a classic example of this).

Jumping to the death penalty can undermine your entire case.

Correct. What elements of this case match with the death penalty? I’m not familiar with Utah law, but in VA this wouldn’t qualify. I would hope the family got some promise not to seek it before they turned their child in. My partner said, “hey, $100k is $100k.”

LOL! That's a case study in how fast media cycles move. From one sentence to the next.

No, it's because it's coming out that the shooter was a MAGA.

Omg. Desperate

they realized that if guns were stored safely, there wouldn't be anyone out there handling the under 12 demographic

Only if you define a mass shooting in a way different than the FBI does.

It’s a Headstamps. Everyone knows it. Even maga.

I think you need to read updated news articles. That was yesterday’s news. Maybe read the transcript or watch the press conference from earlier.

lol what you going to shoot me? It’s a Headstamps. Provide some evidence that is not maybe up internet stuff. Like you heard it from a bot on twitter with 5 followers.

I linked the press conference.

Stop gaslighting and actually get your facts straight before you post.

Also, why would you say that? I never said anything to indicate I was violent.

So you can not provide links proving your craziness? Got it.

Not the PP, re-posting to help you, of off chance you aren't a troll. We have to take law enforcement's word for it. They aren't giving us images of the bullet they dug out of the corpse, just yet:

Whether you liked Charlie Kirk or not, hopefully we can agree that he didn’t deserve to murdered in broad daylight, especially in front of his wife and two young children. That’s it. Who cares about politics. This is right and wrong. There have been Democrat, Republican, and mentally ill shooters in these past event years. All messed up and wrong, regardless of their motive. He was a father na husband who didn’t deserve to be murdered.

The GOP politicians, including the POTUS, came out IMMEDIATELY, before the shooter was found, and made inflammatory statements about how this was the fault of the "radical left" and kept doubling down on "retribution" against liberals/democrats/the left and other threats.

Read that again. In the wake of a public murder, the President of the United States of American took this as an opportunity to blame an entire political party and threaten his political opponents (whom he likes to call enemies). No attempt to calm the nation, no attempt to come together, no attempt to condemn all political violence. No. He blamed the opposition party for a murder. He said he was going to take them all down. And then members of Congress echoed this. Nancy Mace laid this at the feet of all Democrats, with no qualifiers.

This is why people are discussing this. The GOP went WAY out of line, using the murder of a human being to pour gas on the fire of division, to call for harm to their political opponents. They had the audacity to call the Democrats for stoking violence as they themselves called for violence. It was irresponsible and horrific. And, frankly, right in line with the way they have been operating for years now.

Every single one of them should be online apologizing but they never will. They have no decency and no integrity. And they will twist any little thing to justify their original lies.

Look at how Trump blamed DEI for the plane/helicopter crash at Regan National Airport when they were literally still pulling bodies from the water and he had no such information to confirm the reason for the crash.

This is such utter incompetence of leadership. Sure, the right call any anger at this "Trump Derangement Syndrome." People are right to be angry when the president is incompetent and divisive.

I'm sure they are going to make this a federal crime by designating as terrorism, but Utah is a death penalty state.

Elie Honig was talking about this earlier. The only clearly applicable aggravating factor here is that Robinson's conduct posed a great risk of death to others than the intended victim. That's obviously true here.

The right is 100% hot air. Get them mad and they buy a new gun, and lift their truck, and by the weekend it’s back to football.
