Next Level doesn't have to make excuses for beating your kid's team. In fact, they owe a debt of thanks to MadLax for driving so many new players over to their program the last few years. The reason the top kids keep leaving MadLax for Next Level is two-fold:
1.) Escaping MadLax's BS and negativity. 2.) Joining Next Level because of great coaching, players and proximity to DC & MD. As for the "can't develop their own players" charge, Next Level beats MadLax at 2024*, 2025, 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030 age groups. *To be fair, a number of the top 2024s were developed by MadLax. MadLax is clearly a distant third behind Next Level & BLC at several of the younger divisions. And DC Express has fielded stronger teams at some of the older age groups. MadLax still has some terrific teams and players. But they're becoming more of a NOVA squad. Unless your kid goes to Landon, not many families from DC or MD are crossing the river to play for a program in decline when there are better options closer to home. And the ones who have (see earlier posts about MadLax 2027) seem to be in an unhappy, unsustainable situation. |

Thanks Dave!
Just like NL is becoming more of a SJC squad. Watch as non-SJC kids start to leave NL. |
| Madlax 2025 is far superior to NL and #1 in the country. |
How many kids on ML 2024 attend Landon? |

By all means, please go ahead and list all the teams (and their rankings) that you've beaten this year to earn this '#1 national ranking', which is a phony marketing tool bestowed upon MadLax by a MadLax subsidiary. |
It's been done before on these threads in NL bashing when people said the same things about the Heights and STA. NL has more high school players from Landon, GZ and GP each than they they do from SJC. The Cadets idea is a good one and there'll be a high school club league or tournament when the hysteria continues into the spring and the high schools cancel all sports again. |
Madlax 2025 doesn’t play any nationally ranked teams. They stay in the “safe zone”. Did you see who they played this summer? Gorillas? This fall they played Madlax 2025 DMV and counted that as a “win”. I’d love to see how they match up against Long Island and NJ teams. |
First of all, calling out the subtle racism from posters who keep suggesting minorities have a big advantage and white kids are on an uneven playing field in the college admissions process. Just stop. I don’t hear you calling out the kids of alumni for getting special legacy treatment.
Yes, all colleges want diversity and gender balance in their class. And they all want kids with good grades and well-rounded extracurricular backgrounds. If you spent as much money on tutors as you do on club lacrosse you’d increase your child’s college prospects tenfold. Secondly, club lacrosse isn’t the recruiting difference maker that club directors would like you to believe. If your kid is good enough to play D1 and has a mildly decent HS coach, he will get noticed and help with recruiting. MadLax, and every club, loves to market how many of their players commit to D1 schools. And they do deserve SOME credit. But more often than not, it's the HS teams that determine kids' lacrosse futures. Remember the "Hey Ungrateful Quitter" e mail? The threat was that the club coach/director could exert his power to influence the decisions of HS and college coaches. Newsflash: It was a hollow, empty threat that was proven to be false and embarrassingly exposed CM's lack of control over the process. If your kid can play, they will get opportunities.
There is nothing racist about saying that minorities have an advantage in school admissions. Nobody denies that athletes and legacies do too. |
Here you go: https://www.usclublax.com/2020-scores.html?TEAM_NAME=Madlax+Capital+%282025%29&TEAM_ID=BOYSMadlax+Capital+%282025%29 Ignore the DMV games. The Adrenaline tourney wasn’t great (except for the aforementioned dominance of NL). The NLF and NAL tourneys are legit competition although admittedly they didn’t face LIE. |

They both are great teams and always play close games; but MadLax has won two of the last three. |
That vaunted #1 Madlax 2025 team got their doors blown off today. Wonder if that impacts their national ranking? |
With a roster of 27 players, it’s unbelievable NL would only have 1 FOGO on their 24 Blue team. That’s just dumb. What if the FOGO gets hurt during a game? |
The plan was to bring in guest players particularly for the face off position |
Which is funny because they used to eschew that practice and complain about other teams doing that. Oh how things have changed. |
They definitely upgraded at all positions. Average attackman quit, brought in better attackmen, middies and defensemen all upgrades |
