Duggar son allegedly molested girls including sisters

Anonymous
The PR statement from josh is very carefully worded. In their world, "counseling" doesn't mean therapy with a licensed practitioner.

Jim bob told the police in 2006 that they sent josh to a counseling program in 2004. Then Michelle said no, it was actually just staying with a family friend doing a renovation project.

This is seriously disturbing. It IS a big deal. Good grief.

I'm a big duggar fan and this doesn't change my views on them at all. Yes I was shocked to learn this but then I thought. Well everyone is human, everyone makes mistakes. I've made plenty in my life. I'm very glad they owned up to it and didn't deny these claims. Owning your mistakes is crucial and to me shows that they are human with flaws.

Well they owned it after it came out officially. They didn't own it back when it happened.

They got everyone involved counseling and went to the police, I would have never went to the police but they choose to. If it was your son what would you do? Kill Him? Disown him ? Make it none everywhere and shame him ? Or would you get him counseling? I would be at a loss as to what I should do. I'm sure they were blindsided

They did not go to the police. The Oprah show was sent a letter, which they forwarded to family services in Arkansas. Then the police investigated the allegations.

I wonder who wrote the letter and then left it in a book? That is so odd.

So you think it was good parenting not to get josh therapy after the first allegation? Or any therapy at all, ever?

Anonymous wrote:If I was investigating this case, I would be very suspicious about the children being coached what to say ahead of time. Every single girl interviewed stated they "liked reading and spelling and hated math" and each one's favorite activity was "broomball".

I really hope the one child who went off-script and mentioned being beaten with the rod wasn't punished later.

I noticed that too. Actually at first I thought there were duplicate pages in the report because what the girls said was so similar.

Most student peers share similar interests. Perhaps michelle is a terrible math teacher or the girls all suck at math. I Thought there was some statistic that girls aren't as good at math & science as boys are.

And as for the kids all liking the same game, I don't find that all that unusual. Many of the boys my son plays with enjoy soccer or minecraft. If you inerviewed 20 boys that were in my sons class, most of them would have the same answers to questions like what's your favorite subject? What do you like to play?

Some of you are just hellbent on thinking the absolute worst possible case because you hate these people because why? Because they are Christians? Don't even try to say it's because of this scandal, you hated them before this all came out.

So are you saying that Josh didn't do these things? I actually never hated them but I am kind of gobsmacked about this situation.

Where in my post did I say that??? He admitted he did it! I am disputing that the duggars coached the children on how to handle the interview questions. And even if you believe that they did coach them, how would they know ahead of time what would be asked?

Well, I wouldn't wait a year to go to the police, for one. And yes, I would take my kid who molested young girls to the police. I would get the victims of the molestation counseling (where are you getting that anyone went to counseling?!). There are things you can do short of your histrionic suggestion that they be killed or disowned. In essence, I would act like a parent and make sure that everyone was given the services they needed, not just prayer. If I was religious, I'm sure I would pray about it, IN ADDITION to actual intervention services. I would take it seriously. I would get involved.

And as PP mentioned, I would NOT go on television espousing to be so humble and righteous, knowing deep down that my family's closet is full of skeletons. The parents did a major disservice to all of their children by choosing to go the fame route knowing this was out there. They are reprehensible people.

Cousin Amy?

I pegged her for being the one who email the Oprah show. And can I say, I am impressed that the production company responding so quickly and in an appropriate manner.

Fuck these hypocritical bigots. Why don't they just have two or three kids like normal people and focus on raising them properly instead of sowing hate and discord in society? Of course you can't supervise that many children adequately.
Josh is the oldest. I bet there are still lots of stones left unturned in that chaotic freak show they've created.

You have room to talk

Nice to know you think discrimination is a good thing. What are you hiding?

Where do you get that I think discrimination is a good thing??? I don't! I'm just pointing out that you are very hateful in what you are posting about the duggars and that you are a hypocrite for calling them hateful when you are being hateful. I think that actually makes you the hypocrite!

In this it says they all got counseling

How on earth does this scumbag have the nerve to stand in front of a sign saying "women and children deserve better?" Cognitive dissonance much?

Honestly, I might be able to look past his behavior if his abuse and molestation were a one time thing - and realized what disgusting things he was doing, stopped, and it never ever happened again. But he repeatedly went from girl to girl to girl and assaulted them. That's sickening. That's predatory behavior.

And yet, he and his family still decided to film their family, get paid, and flaunt their BS "family values."

Uh, no. Pretty sure we disliked this family because they are hypocritical bigots. And we've now learned they're hypocritical bigots who raised, aided and abetted a child molester.

Exactly. Please read this whole thread if you are unfamiliar with why some of us disapprove of the Duggars. It's not just because they're Christian.

I've been posting actively and reading since the first page. Do you see that little symbol at the end of my sentence? It's called a question mark. It wasn't a statement, it was a question. I don't assume to know what others are thinking like many of you do. I ask questions and try to gather more information so I can process that and form an opinion. I try not to jump to conclusions.

100%

The Josh Duggar makes his LIVING trying to institutionalize and specific brand of morality on people. He comes from a family who believe this country should live by the same ideals as them.

They deserve this shaming 100%

On the finale, Michelle discussed her infamous "lawn mowing in a bikini" and literally said that when women dress immodestly and stir up desires in men that can't be fulfilled, it is the woman's fault. Pre-scandal I was thinking that is no different than what we hear from other strict religions, and how their daughters must feel blamed all the time.

Then this news comes along. I cannot imagine how much guilt those girls must have piled on them. No wonder poor Jinger was crying at the wedding saying she was not worthy. This is just so sad.

This family is fucking gross. I'm torn between feeling satisfied that some of their skeletons are finally falling out of the closet and feeling really, really sad for those kids. The girls, obviously, but also a tiny bit for josh. Not a child therapist, but you usually don't start fondling your sisters unless something was going on with you first.

Yes!

If TLC canceled their highest rated gravy train, Honey Boo Boo (heh no pun) for just a couple of photos of a molester and the account of pissed off Uncle Poodle then the Duggars are doomed.

They had to know this was coming, the last couple of shows showcased the crew and a Q&A.

I wonder if dim yet devout and righteous Ben will speak out against his Percy brother in law.
