I guess it is ok to kill your kids (Casey Anthony), shoot someone cause they are the wrong color (Trayvon Martin), and legally kidnap kids (Baby Veronica and Baby Desaray), as long as you can get the courts on your side.

Our justice system is very flawed.

This stuff is happening every day to many families. Those you list have just gotten media attention. Many more quietly fighting losing battles against those who only care about themselves.

I don't think there are enough details in the story for anyone to judge. It sounds like the mother wanted to give up the child for adoption, so that part is above board. No details on how involved the father was. The one source of conflict that is clear from the story is the birth mom is Native American, and thus the adoption is held to ICWA and the mother has fewer options in terms of adoption (something that doesn't seem entirely fair to me).

I think we need some serious adoption reform in this country. ICWA aside, fathers should have rights to raise their kids if they want. I feel that an adoption decision is not for the mother to unilaterally make.

I completely agree fathers should have rights and that reform is needed/state laws should be standardized. But I waver when a father is completely uninterested in the beginning and during pregnancy. In those cases, a father's choice could sway a mother's choice to put a child up for adoption. And it says a lot about the father's character (or could, at least).

Good. I hope those heartless adoptive "parents" walk away with nothing, but huge legal bills.

This is an absolute travesty. Those heartless entitled motherfuckers.

Now the adoptoraptors can parade this child around on Dr. Phil and make a reality show with Troy Dunn like they planned. This country is awful for allowing rich people to essentially legally kidnap a child they bought and paid for.

The same adoption agency recently gave a newborn to a couple in their 60's, without filing any of the legal paperwork and also disregarding the birth fathers request to keep his baby.

This is so awful
