Also, derivative sovereign immunity certainly won’t shield a contractor in a very important court — the court of public opinion. Will a Cushman & Wakefield or JB Smith (just to pick 2 names) want to be forever known as the contactor that helped destroy the historic, beloved Kennedy Center? Seems pretty bad for the brand.

Who would stop him? Both Houses of Congress are under Republican control, and they don’t care — at least not on record. The Roberts Court has given him permission to do whatever he wants. It’s also likely that a chunk of the Roberts Court, a chunk of Congress, and a good number of the billionaires and multi-millionaires supporting him are thrilled with what they’re getting and even more thrilled that people are focusing on things like this instead of releasing the complete unredacted Epstein files.

Nothing has happened. That is a proposed order. The plaintiff filed but nothing has been decided.
