A parent posted a link in the Bethesda girls group but it's not something you can find from their main page so I don't think it's legit and nothing has been announced, they aren't on any coaching slates for next year. GFR parents are still holding out hope for a return for them as coaches at least.

They were there a year. Which McLean coaches got promoted undeservedly? I am only familiar with a few of the names on their coaching slate for GA but haven't looked at the Aspire slate yet and doubt anyone would leave GFR for that level right now.

No affiliation with McLean. Just a GFR parent seeing the club get screwed by a bunch of know nothing board members, who will move on to some other hobby in 3 years when their kids leave to play lax.

So what’s on the agenda for Wednesday’s meeting other than the special election? Is there a parent component to the meeting as suggested in their first email? Otherwise, why were the parents invited?

It's just the special election as far as I know, but not sure why they sent a zoom link to the entire club to join other than I think all board meetings are technically open to all members. The email was weird and obviously the interim directors didn't want to send it but they got called out for causing this gigantic mess with no recourse and have no choice but to elect another board member now. Rumor is they won't have the votes to get someone on their side on the board so RS and the board members who were against all this will be able to overturn all of the decisions they made and maybe try to right some of the wrongs that have happened but I will believe it when I see it.

So who exactly gets to vote for the new board member? The current board or the current board plus some others?

Wouldn’t that just be a split vote then assuming the 3 who signed the initial letter vote against any nominee of the other side and vice versa? Does the R&D board get to vote?
