I know plenty who think the opposite, mainly Big 3 students. Also Emory is historically ranked higher. |
If US news didn't pull a houdini just to get publics up the ranking people wouldn't view them differently. |
Exactly! These poser schools cater to those who can’t get into elite institutions but still want an expensive education with a veneer of exclusivity. By the way, check out the law school rankings. Emory's law school currently sits eleven spots behind Alabama. I bet you can't say the same for Cal, UCLA, or even Ohio State. |
Emory is T25. The ones your children can't get into, and the one yall are upset that Gatech isn't ranked higher than... But now its not elite lol...Pick one narrative. |
Cal, Michigan and Wisconsin have been highly ranked forever. Google rankings from 1910 or 1925. I bet you will not find Emory or Tufts. |
GT is elite at engineering and a better school overall than Emory. I think that was the argument. |
Huge drop off from what? I also don’t understand PP…does that mean any private college ranked below UCB is “tarnished” in some way? |
US news college rankings started in the 80's. Are you trolling? |
Why is Wisconsin introduced to anything? They dropped eons ago. |
If it was better it would be ranked higher, and smarter students would want to enroll. Better yet only good at 2-3 subjects? Emory is ranked higher in both the undergrad and global rankings. Global rankings are purely grad school research rankings, academics see Emory better there too. What's not clicking? This is getting sad. You're bragging about subjects Emory doesn't even offer. |
They're grasping for staws... UCB was ranked below Emory/Vandy etc 2 years ago. And it'll change again in the future. |
Cal has been ranked as high as #5 (1983) and as low as #27 (1997) in US News. It typically is ranked higher than Emory. |
Average US News rank 1996-2025. (The USNWR list was greatly expanded in 1996.) 1.2 Princeton University 1.8 Harvard University 3.0 Yale University 4.7 Massachusetts Institute of Technology 4.8 Stanford University 6.8 University of Pennsylvania 7.5 California Institute of Technology 7.5 Duke University 7.8 Columbia University 8.6 University of Chicago 10.6 Dartmouth College 11.1 Northwestern University 12.0 Johns Hopkins University 13.7 Brown University 13.9 Cornell University 15.2 Washington University in St. Louis 16.3 Rice University 17.6 Vanderbilt University 18.2 University of Notre Dame 19.3 Emory University 21.0 University of California-Berkeley 22.2 Georgetown University 23.3 Carnegie Mellon University 23.5 University of Virginia 23.5 University of California-Los Angeles 25.4 University of Michigan-Ann Arbor 28.0 University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill 28.3 Tufts University 28.6 Wake Forest University 28.9 University of Southern California 32.6 New York University 34.2 University of Rochester 34.5 College of William and Mary 35.3 Brandeis University 35.4 University of California-San Diego 35.5 Boston College 37.3 Georgia Institute of Technology 38.7 University of Wisconsin-Madison 39.2 Case Western Reserve University 40.0 Lehigh University 40.5 University of California-Davis 40.8 University of California-Irvine 42.1 University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign 45.7 Tulane University Emory is historically ranked higher. |
Unlike others…I have no issues with how USNews changed their rankings which gave huge bumps to public universities. If GA Tech still can’t move ahead of Emory and other privates even with the tweaked rankings…well it’s hard to claim it should be ranked higher overall. |
Can you explain why Emorys median salary is 82k without an engineering school, but GT's is only 84k as a STEM school? Is Emory overperforming or Gatech underperforming? |
