GWU has been trying to break into the T50 since the 1980s and is always coming up short. |
Without any other qualifiers, I take “t50” to mean a school ranked in the top 50 of national universities or national liberal arts colleges by USNWR. Yes, that’s 100 schools, but the categories are distinct enough and all the schools close enough in educational value that I assume the broader meaning unless told otherwise. To me the more important question is which schools fit a given student’s needs and interests best. |
This is the correct ranking |
They are garbage rankings for undergraduate education. All of them. The USNWR rankings have plenty of issues as well now that they include social mobility, FGLI, and Pell grants as weights. All things which have zero to do with instructional or student quality. |
But its Elliott School of International Affairs is ranked #6 in the nation. If you get accept there, kudos. |
2017, Which is the last year without Social Mobility and DEI policies included. |
You can go back 8 years if you want. Life goes on. Keep up. |
It doesn't matter because if you fall outside of the Ivies and non-Ivy top 10, you're the loser when playing the eliteness game. |
Exactly. Although I would say T12-T15, with schools like UChicago, Duke, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, ND, Hopkins added to the Ivies. I like the tier ideas. Does anyone really see that major of a difference in terms of "prestige" between WashU and Emory? Or BU and NEU? BC and Tufts? GWU and American? Miami and Wake? Tulane and SMU? USC and UCLA, etc. |
Yes. When i say T50 im not thinking the latest USNWR. Im thinking historically T50 schools over the last 25 yrs. In this case yes, Tulane is T50. |
OP you got your answer from one anonymous poster. And yeah, a couple of white dudes don't like social mobility. We're done now. |
You're a loser if you play the eliteness game. |
They have plenty of programs ranked in the top 50. But who cares? It's an excellent university. That's all that matters. |
Wow. That’s it. Didn’t realize it was 2020. But makes sense. |
All rankings since the 1964 Civil Rights Act are invalid. |
