Ask Pride 23 and 24 parents if they had to do it all over again what would they have done. Some of the best talent stayed with Pride and the recruiting results were disappointing to say the least. Capital 23s and 24s, on the other hand, landed at some of the best programs. Capital will find their talent, develop and turn them into recruiting successes.
Was Pride the problem? Or maybe it was because the Capital players were better than the Pride players. That is a great question. This isn't magic, the Capital players were better thus had better recruiting success. |
I don't know these players at all and I don't doubt that great players were on both teams. However lets all accept the fact that the Capital name means something to college coaches. I am not saying Capital does anything that other clubs don't. Frankly, as a Capital parent I don't think they do much. But for whatever reason the club name means something to college coaches. They know the best players in this area all tryout (over 100 girls for 24 spots) and therefore these girls are the best in the area. Are there great players on other teams? Absolutely! Do they get recruited? Yes! But for whatever reason the Capital brand helps. |
100% |
Pride had the wrong pieces in place who were not committed to the task and bailed early in the process on those girls. You all can continue to believe what you will do the same way SW did and rest on your laurels and see how it shakes out a couple of years from now. Maybe read the book Who Moved My Cheese. You either learn and evolve or eventually you die off... |
We’re not talking about a couple years from now, we’re talking about this summer. This is a thread about 29s not the future of Capital or high school only model. And as many people have previously pointed out, there is no better local option for the 29 class. |
Yes, and a couple of years from now is exactly when these 29's will be going through the recruiting process you moron... |
Lol k. My daughter will play for capital and your daughter can play for whatever club you think is going to take them down and we’ll check back in 4 years and see who the moron is. |
No need to wait you have already proven yourself |
Capital is a GREAT brand because it attracts the top players. The same way MCPS and FCPS are the top school districts because geography attracts the best demographics. My friend's daughter was goalie on Capital Blue and a great student. Was recruited to a very low D1. She's transferred out after her first year, but that had nothing to do with Capitals. Look at players from Xtreme and YJMA - going to UNC, JMU and Ivy League. It's about the player and how hard they work to get there. |
Lol k. My daughter will play for capital and your daughter can play for whatever club you think is going to take them down and we’ll check back in 4 years and see who the moron is. No need to wait you have already proven yourself Glad she made the team! |
These peeps infect every thread, it's hilarious. They think if they keep talking to each other about how great Cap is and how crazy you'd be not to be one of them it'll distract from the downturn and precipice they're on. Some of us have been telling them for 9 months they should be concerned with their previous 2 classes first and get it right or else... exactly what we're seeing now. Has played out to a tee. Cap better get out to a fast start in 2025. |
Guarantee every 29 in the DMV will be at the M&D DC tryout. Nobody in their right mind is going to take a Capital Orange offer at this point. |
You forget that before Cap Blue's top-ten ranked 2026s and 2025s, the club's 2024s and 2023s both finished at #15 when Pride's players opted to stay together those years. People thought it would be the end of Capital. Here's where those Cap Blue players committed: 2024: Syracuse ND Yale Princeton Penn Virginia Stony Brook Denver JMU JMU Umass Cornell Vanderbilt Fairfield Colorado Villanova UConn Butler Louisville St. Joe’s Pitt 2023: Northwestern Hopkins Navy UVA UVA Michigan Michigan Harvard Princeton Brown Columbia Georgetown Richmond Pitt Colgate Cincinnati Saint Joe’s Saint Joe’s VCU East Carolina Was Capital on the "precipice" when Pride decided to stay together for 24 and 23? PP would have said yes. Didn't happen. And it won't happen. Capital's history, coaching, reputation (combined with the RC's connections) are too strong. They have a winning formula. Whether you like it or not, it's not up for debate. Facts don't lie. |
28 Blue lost to a GC 29 motley crew. Capital’s day has come to an end. Facts, stop with all the propaganda. |
The super impressive list of commitments are not based on Club. It's based on the girls on the roster. Someone is going to Harvard, Yale or Princeton because of grades, test scores and lacrosse. Not because of a club's recruiting coordinator's connections. Nowadays you can buy those services through a consultant and they are a whole lot more effective anyways. |
