I wish the founding fathers never put that in there. I’m sure it was needed at the time, but they didn’t have a clue what we were in for.

Nobody wants it this way. No one. Not even the A-rated-by-the-NRA cowards in congress. Eventually, the politicians will crack. It will be harder to do nothing than it is to make change. Once a few shift, most will. We will look back on this time, and see it for what it was, and is: madness.

There's been a marked increase in school shootings in the last 10-15 years.

Because of mental illness, poor parenting, and social media.

Bearing arms is not a "natural right" whatever that means. Sorry you are ignorant of the fact that rights evolve with society and so has our Constitution. Two hundred years ago, the Constitution considered Black Americans as 3/5 of a person and women could not vote. Rights have changed as our society has become more enlightened.

It is our natural right. Sorry the constitution doesn’t care about your feelings.

Do explain why it’s impossible to amend the constitution to reflect the will of the people. Hint: you may have failed civics, but amendments have been made to the Constitution and no one cares about what you *think* is a natural right.

Bingo!!!! I am from Europe, in my country there are plenty of mentally ill people , lots of poor parenting and same social media as here and my 14 yr old nephew has no idea what a shooter drill is, something his 15 yr old American cousin has been doing since pre-k. IT'S THE ACCESS TO POWERFUL GUNS!!!!!

We live in an entirely different world than when the constitution was written. Guns need some serious restrictions.

Every other developed country has those things. They don’t have monthly school shootings.

Then why do other nations with high gun ownership not have this problem?

They don’t allow parents to give their 13-year-olds who have already been interviewed by the FBI for making threats AR-15s for Christmas? Just a guess.

Your call was and is sound, but surprised at the number and type of charges, including murder. I am not bothered in the least by the father's charge, but it does show the utter seriousness in which this rural county in Georgia is taking this incident. Surprised there has not been more outcry over the kid being tried as an adult, although on the alleged facts doesn't bother me either.
