But I think that the first debate should be held on the previously agreed-upon network, because it has precedence. First dibs, if you will. To spurn them would be rude and burning some bridges. I also reject Trump's claim that because it's a different debate opponent, the deal is off. That's just a coward's excuse and we all know it.

No dibs. There have been too many debates on leftward media stations in the last 30 years. Time to balance that out. The softball questions to one side have become ridiculous to the point of everyone rolling their eyes when PBS or NPR host it.

Sorry buddy, Trump agreed to it. Going back on his word is not Presidential.

If he hadn't agreed to it, I agree with you that Fox would be a good first debate network. It can still be a second.

So did Biden. He needs to show up if he agreed to it.

If Biden does not show up for this debate, and send Kamala, should Trump be allowed to send Vance to debate?

A lot of democrats did not vote for Harris and they would like to hear more of unscripted answers.

No Democrat is going to vote for Trump based on one debate with Kamala. I'm sorry but that just would never happen.

You will be surprised but a lot of black voters are turned off when they are finding that she incarcerated innocent black man for years in California. A lot of voters would like to know if she indeed tried any of the landmark cases that would protect their civil rights. We know so far, that, while in Senate, she voted 97% in line with Sanders votes. Voters wants to know if she will remain this radical left like when she was a Senator. Don't assume everyone is supporting her.

Because Biden fully dictated terms of the first debate. It would be fair to allow the other candidate to dictate the terms of the second debate. What kind of democracy is it when one party dictates the terms for all debate?

Trump is the master of the art of the deal, but he couldn’t negotiate the terms of the two debates scheduled with Biden at all? He just acquiesced to everything Biden wanted?

Yes, and it was a great deal. Biden was a toast after that.

The Trump campaign and Biden campaign negotiated the debates. If Trump has to follow the rules and venue of these prior debate negotiations, so does Biden. Biden needs to show to follow the negotiated rules. Period. Holding Trump to the standards he negotiated is fine as long as Biden does the same. It’s not fair or equitable to only hold Trump to fulfill previous commitments.

The agreement was made between the two campaigns, not Trump and Biden personally. And it's still the same campaign, just with Harris at the top of the ticket.

The Biden campaign is the same as the Harris campaign?

It's an organization that Harris was and continues to be part of. Campaigns are all about money and no money changed hands when she moved to the top of the ticket.

Are you saying anyone from the organization can show up and debate?

Agreement was made between campaigns, but agreement is made for Trump to debate Biden. The agreement does not state GOP nominee will debate DNC nominee, it has names. Biden/Kamala campaign now violating the agreement trying to substitute Biden by Kamala. If they want to stick to the agreement, they need to send Biden to the debates.
