I actually think it was better, at least for some couples/stories. I definitely didn’t need or want to see some of those past cast members (no thank you Izzy), but at least they finally asked some big questions from fans. In past seasons, it felt like we watched an entirely different show than Nick and Vanessa because the things most talked about online were never brought up at the reunions. They hammered Jeramy and Sarah Anne, and actually read line by line Trevor’s ex’s receipts. Others they took it easy on — Chelsea and Kenneth mostly. So at least this time someone in production paid attention to social media and gave viewers more of what they wanted.

Creepy that they can access their texts.

I am surprised they admitted Chelsea will now work for the show! There is so much blurring of lines between reality and entertainment in this realm.

I assume the ex gave the production the texts. Were they green colored like from her end or from his?

I remember thinking his sister looked so familiar.

AD admitting she went on dates with Matt after knowing he's a lying narcissist shows her insecurity and she really should be in therapy as well. Everyone saying she's a "strong woman", she's not.

They spent half the time talking to the previous seasons couples and should have focused more on the actual season.

When did she find this out? I assumed they dated sometime in the year after the pods/before it aired. She wouldn't have seen or known the whole picture at that time.

I don't mind if she does, but I want them to screen people who apply because they want to get married and have this meet-cute story to tell about how they met. I don't want them to recruit people off social media like I heard they did this Season 6.

Anonymous wrote:Wow what an emotional episode! I think this is the first episode of this entire franchise that made me cry. Talk about a tale of two attachment styles.

Johnny comes from two people who love each other and love him and he is secure and confident and loving. Clay is crippled by his father's legacy and the insecurity and fear it birthed in him.

I have watched every season of this show and I think there is always a real energy the weddings have when people think its actually going to happen and it was there with AD and Clay. The emotions and feelings you could feel them they were truly there but I could also tell he was going to say no from the beginning. And kudos to the show I have to say, they could have edited that to make him look like a total jerk but instead they went to pretty great lengths to show how he is a victim of a generational cycle of abuse and how it just prevented him from accepting the relationship fully.

I think the one thing he did wrong was allow her to say yes. If you want the relationship to continue after the altar, if you are really all in and in love but not ready you don't have that conversation after she said yes in front of the world. You say that the night before so you spare her that humiliation and lay the groundwork. Especially when you knew what you were going to say the way it seemed he did.

But my heart kind of breaks for him, he's messed up. And he doesn't want to be and knows he is, which is a hard place to be.

I agree. He is VERY self aware. It is a good example of how a parent's infidelity can scar their children (I have seen many examples).
He is genuinely trying I think.

I think so too. I think he will get there if he continues to do the work.

You can ask that question without having to insert “like”in it.

I believe that they always have. Im almost certain that Lauren was recruited. I think the difference is that as the show blew up they focused more on characters for a marketable story line than a cast for the actual process.

Agree.
But I have zero social media presence so maybe they figured she didn’t need any more of what she had apparently received from the online crowd?
I just find her hard to watch though bc her insecurities are so dominant that they clearly take center stage in her relationships. AD was spot on in pointing out different she is around her girls from how she was with her man. Like night and day for real. I hope she grows from that.

The guests were chatting, Clay and his mom talked down the aisle, he talked to the guests, and they gave commentary during each other’s vows. They even talked to each other during the dramatic pause! That was a riot.

And I gotta say, I never be want to be with a man who doesn’t cry when he breaks my heart. If you’re going to break my heart on national tv, you better be sobbing. At least Jimmy walked away before the wedding.

That conversation between his parents — now THAT is a show I would watch. I wanted to hug Clay’s mom so hard.

Yes his mom and pop could’ve done a whole episode. This whole thing was so sad I was crying

His parent’s conversation was the best the show offered the entire season.

Yes!!
Team Clay’s Mom!
Now THAT is a woman who knows her worth. She has dignity and class.

I don’t understand how Lauren had the audacity to be angry at Sarah Ann when she LITERALLY advised Jess to do the exact same thing to Jimmy that Sarah Ann did to Jeramy.

Seriously.

And Laura was straight up rude and dismissive ti Jeramey the entire time they were together.
She was not listening bong or gentle to him at all, and that kind of biting sarcasm and picking gets very old very fast.

I think meeting their families (specifically him meeting her family) really sealed it because they LOVED him!! He is definitely a guy whose looks grow more attractive with time because he is sorta cute but not in an “omg he’s hot!” way. More like he’s a chill guy who is neutral-ish cute. And then he is just a kick-back guy who fun, witty, seems smart, is supportive and gentle with her….and then he’s unexpectedly romantic! She is so wise to snap him up because he cherishes her AND he’s a good guy! And he will always treat her like he can’t believe he hit the jackpot—which he did! But also she is smart enough to recognize that he is the total package when it comes to how he will treat her and love her!
