VA Democratic House candidate performed sex acts online for tips

New to the thread. Female voter. If everything was consensual I question her judgement but not enough to vote for someone who doesn’t believe I have a right to bodily autonomy. If there’s another viable democratic candidate in the wings maybe, if not I guess we’re going to have an adult performer in the house of delegates. We’ve had larger embarrassments.

What? How can this be real? I'm a Dem voter and completely f-ing shocked. How can anyone in this day and age run for public office knowing that they have this in their closet? I cannot believe that Dems would put her out there. Completely awful. I'm pissed. There had to be a better candidate.

I'm not judging her for her online sex work. Legal whatever. But that work makes her a terrible candidate for political office. She (and the party) should've known better. Self absorbed narcissist. What a shame.

Oh, yeah. She's in my district. I think this was super dumb, but I'm still totally voting for her. And I don't think any of my Dem friends in this district would switch their votes to Republican because of this no matter how stupid they thought she was. We all know this entire election is about abortion in Virginia. However, there are also plenty of Republicans in my district too--especially in Goochland. But they are also mostly moderate country club style Republicans. I'm not sure how many of them want abortion to be illegal either.

It is kind of ironic since Roe was predicated on the right to privacy and abortion is an issue about a woman's right to do what she wants with HER body. We have very puritanical beliefs in this country, especially when it comes to women's sexuality.

It's already disappeared from talking points that I'm seeing. So maybe it won't turn out to be as big of a deal as I thought? Youngkin will run roughshod over this state if he can.

As I understand it, she and her husband only "performed" live streams behind a paywall. So you had to pay to get in and see anything. And even then, it would not be archived and you had to watch them perform live. To summarize: (1) someone knew they were performing, (2) someone then recorded the streams, and (3) they then uploaded the videos to external sites not subject to a paywall.

Hence why she is trying to claim it's "revenge porn" - because someone then uploaded the videos onto external sites that can be accessed for free via a Google search without their consent. That's also a copyright violation, hence why she has a lawyer issuing takedown orders.

There's a really good story here for an enterprising journalists willing to dig into the details of political ratf#ckery.

The videos were up on the internet. There was no "leak." They were freely available as of this morning. Maybe one of her fans recognized her now that she is out campaigning. You can't perform live on the internet and then be surprised when the internet doesn't forget.

But I would also love to learn more about the "tip" to the WaPo from some GOP operative.
