Think about why that was the case in 1951. |
So you’re telling me that the renaming of TC Williams, a public school with a mere 2,000 students in it, is gonna have more of an impact on the community and country than the name of one of the biggest counties in the country? |
| Imagine how I feel being a native Loudouner and having to deal with all this suburbanization and yankee transplants becoming the majority. Wish I could go back to times where Northern Virginia still retained some it’s dixie charm. |
Yes, they were. Stick to facts. |
I can’t imagine longing for “Dixie charm.” |
Ah yes, the times when fairfax was still semi-rural and we made fun of kids from maryland for being yanks. good times indeed. |
Moved to Great Falls in the early 2000s and even then I thought Loudoun was a bunch of farmers in the middle of nowhere. Still think that to an extent, especially when I cross the bridge north of Leesburg near Lovettsville into Maryland haha.

| Im fine with removing confederate stuff. But why couldn't Fairfax County find a good Lee person to rename Lee Highway after to keep it generally known as Lee Highway rather than just Route 29? Like Spike Lee Highway? |
Which ones? |
So does that mean things can be named after him or no? |
Don’t het ahead of yourself. The North wasn’t that great, either. http://civildiscourse-historyblog.com/blog/2017/1/3/when-did-slavery-really-end-in-the-north |
What’s wrong with numbers? Almost everyone else deals with them and they don’t take any “charm” away from roadways. |
But they weren’t traitors. |
