Manchin was crystal clear with Schumer - months ago - about what he would accept. The Democrats didn't negotiate in good faith. It was doomed to fail.

I think it was the constant accounting tricks that did it for Manchin in the end. It’s just not good faith to reduce a permanent program into 1 year and claim that it’s funded. Outrageous.

That’s ridiculous. The program you’re talking about is the child tax credit. It was good for a year and now it’s expiring. That’s not “permanent” and it wouldn’t be in a new bill either.

I want to see someone put up billboards across West Virginia that let every voter know Joe Manchin is responsible for ending the child tax credit.

It really sticks in the craw of some that they can’t use slurs anymore. I wonder why that bothers people so much. The people against whom the slurs are used have said these slurs bother them. No. I’m in favor of renaming places that are racially offensive.

All I’m saying is Americans are more concerned with putting food on the table and security, but democrats get in office, virtue signal with this kind of woke stuff, and push identity politics over meat and potatoes issues all while defunding the police and making cities more dangerous. That’s great they renamed some place maybe they should focus less on that stuff and pronouns and using clinical jargon that just alienates people like “LatinX”.
