In the past we've always just gone to the local place for a bottle or two, but I see now I need to start buying by the case for the holidays. Where do you go that has decent deals? I'm in CCDC.
Thanks! |
| Costco (in VA, not MD), Rodman's, sometimes Addy Bassin's or Paul's |
| I like Paul's but for a large amount I might travel to Total Wine/Beverage in Va. |
| Costco in DC. |
| We go to Total Wine in McClean. |
| Costco in Virginia or trader joes in Virginia. |
| Calvert Woodley or Rodman's |
| Wall Street Journal Wine Club |
These are nicely convenient! Do you think they have good deals? |
They all run weekly sales and have case discounts. So it depends whether the wine you are looking for happens to be on sale when you need it. Just take a look at the various ads and see what's on sale. Paul's is across from Rodman's so you can do both if need be. How much are you looking for and how high end? If you need multiple cases of high end wine then CW may be a better bet. if you are looking more mid priced ($20/bottle) then Rodman's is a good bet). If you are just looking for a single case then I wouldn't worry about it that much -you'll get the case discount. |
| I second the Total Wine in McLean; they will take back those bottles which you did not open. Very knowledgeable staff, pretty wide selection |
Someone has had leftover wine? Must not be doing it right...
|
| Trader joe's |
|
What about for us pathetic Marylanders?
|
| I live in Maryland and we go to Total Wine in McLean. |
