Then explain the FCV tryout numbers and the lack of an entire 09 age group at FCV yet over a 100 kids at Loudoun tryouts. |
Beating a dead horse. This has been said #16 times. I really wish we can move on from this and talk about facts of ECNL & DA. |
We get it Loudoun had lots of kids at tryouts while FCV didn’t. Let’s see what happens when they are DA age. All FCV needs is 18 kids. Right now they have that and are the best DA team in the area. |
I don't need to explain anything. The 09 age group is not GDA or ECNL and if you think that top players (let's use your 09 example) will stay in their clubs as they get older, then you don't know about what is going on in youth soccer. Otherwise, teams that have good 09 teams in small clubs would continue to be strong as they get older...it simply doesn't happen that way. Educate yourself. |
| The world, and especially the soccer world, doesn’t revolve around your freaking 09s. Loudoun has a huge structure for the younger age groups that caters more to your casual player. FCV would crush Loudoun at the older age groups. And your player will probably flame out and be at neither of these clubs by the time they’re 15. Get over yourselves. |
You do realize that a requirement for DA membership is for the club to demonstrate a viable player pool. The following link is the application form for GDA: https://ussoccer.app.box.com/s/bfue4frh9q2dhlq7fx9snhqdsj71yfw2/file/240609263008 With kids at the critical ages on the application of U12 still going to Loudoun and not trying out at FCV how is that not a problem going forward? Again, DA is not ECNL where only results matter and recruiting is a viable path. US Soccer wants the clubs to actually have kids at younger ages being trained in preparation for the DA. What will happen when GDA expands to U12 like on the boys side? Not having an entire age group for two years is a serious problem for FCV. Spirit MD, VA and Arlington can all point to a player pool. Spirit MD can point to Baltimore Armour and Pipeline. Spirit VA can point to Great Fall Reston and Arlington can point to the 100 kids per age group that they have. Why do you think VDA is partnered with PWSI and VSA on the boys side? Demonstrative player pool. You might want to educate yourself on the imposed standards that DA requires of its member clubs. And right now two big red flags for FCV is player pool and fields. But I'm sure when the time comes FCV will pull in some independent team for numbers like the two ODFC teams. #Development. #TheTankIsAlwaysFull |
...And what better evidence would you need to know they aren't developing players? If the best players go to wherever there is a DA team at 14, then you could pick any club and your statement would be the same. In FCV's defense, are there any U9 teams in FCV Ashburn? Maybe they just don't want to pay the fees yet for the mothership. |
And a lot of other standards. Basic ones like 4 nights a week training with no more than 2 teams on 1 full field, and 1 night with a full field to themselves. A or B licensed coaches, beginning in 2019 without waivers unless they're at least enrolled. |
FCV Ashburn is the rec program. I fail to see how anyone thinks that the lack of an entire age group going into U10 is not a bad thing for the club. Essentially, they have an entire class that upon DA age was developed somewhere else. It is a tall order for FCV to pull any of Loudoun's top kids into that situation ever. |
| Loudoun poster— why are you stalking the FCV tryouts? It is weird and a bit much for children’s soccer. |
Perhaps I have a 09 who might have been interested in FCV until I saw the actual numbers and virtually no team history? Oh, please sign me up for that for $2500!! I'll choose Loudoun over that and would likely stay with Loudoun. I'd have serious concerns about FCV maintaining DA status by the time my kid is of age at this point. |
“Perhaps” Why lie? You made your point numerous times. Now we are just going in circles |
| Anyone know the new conference alignments for ecnl next year? |
The point is, a robust young player pool is vital to the success of a club. It is easier to add in missing pieces at U13-U14 than looking for an entire team. I know your kid is older and you think this won't affect your players DA status or success but if you care about the club this is not a healthy sign. Yes, we all know that kids come in from other clubs but this is an entire age group that FCV is missing. How is that possibly good news for the club? |
|
FCV not having a U10 team next year is a disaster. I know the FCV 04 DA Dad think this is nothing to worry about. However, FCV has always been a club that attracted players from U9 on.
What has happened with the younger age groups? |
