Women: would you date a man who makes less money than you?

Anonymous
Just curious.
Anonymous
No but I am a nurse and don't make big bucks.
Anonymous
Of course. Why wouldn't I, unless it's objectively super low.
Anonymous
Some concrete numbers; 90-100K vs 40-50K
Anonymous
I make 50 K but I only work part time.

I need a guy who makes over 150.
Anonymous
If he's working his way up and will surpass me, yes. If not, no. I'm a little old-fashioned in that way.
Anonymous
I would for sure, and I don't make a lot.

I am married, and happily married someone who makes less than me, and we have been together now for 12 years.
Anonymous
My issue wouldn't be wether or not he makes less than me, but rather if our combined income would support a family with a relatively comfortable lifestyle.
Anonymous
Fuck - yes. Marry - no.
Anonymous
No. I make enough to support a family comfortably. I would be more concerned about whether he has been consistently gainfully employed than how much he makes.

Oops, I mean yes I would.

nope

Yes. Why not? My husband makes about 5 K less than me, so I would marry one as well, I guess, even though the difference is insignificant.
Anonymous
Yes but only if he had a good job - such as a teacher or other professional-type job.

If he worked as a waiter, I would not date him.

I am an attorney and I have only ever dated men who went to college and had good jobs.

I am just not attracted to the artsy fartsy or restaurant or construction job types. I like solid, smart guys with responsible jobs.

Yes. I married one.
