thats not even true. Alot of gold teams got the rec level of coaching with no travel to any showcase of merit. |
He will not be coaching his daughter next year. I asked him directly. |
| Any updates on coaching from the tryouts? |
| Looked like 50-60 boys at tryouts today. Is that normal for Valor? |
Sounds very low! They have five teams in that age group, so that would be around 60 current players. |
| Yep not showing up for the first tryout means you aren't interested so sounds like they have a bunch of kids quitting |
| Did they address the coach situation with the parents? |
| Does anyone know 2014 boy coaches for next season? When one of parents asked about it yesterday, we were told they have coaches assigned. However, it was not specified. |
Well that's shady. Why not just tell the parents? |
|
They are lying.
You think they hired five great qualified coaches but just decided to keep their names a secret for funsies?? They probably hired two coaches and are desperately beating the bushes for three more, or trying to recruit parents to coach. |
| If they had had coaches hired, they would have been at the tryouts evaluating players. |
I saw 4 out of the 5 current coaches at the tryout. Maybe they were all there, but I don’t know everyone. Looked like at least a couple head Valor guys too. Not sure if they were evaluating or just overseeing. At least one of the coaches that was there is definitely leaving. I don’t think they said anything to parents on any subject at the tryout. Definitely not at the end. There were a few kids there from outside Valor. Not sure if it’s enough to offset kids leaving. I don’t know how many are leaving but at least a few. Maybe they will only have four teams next year. Who knows. |
| Usually at Valor tryouts they talk to the parents at the beginning, introduce the coaches etc. i guess we know why they didn't do that. |
|
Four teams- for what level/age group?
|
U12 typically has four teams. U11 typically has five. The tryout was for U12 |
