That’s not likely to happen. We all know Israel is going to keep fighting in Lebanon, and at some point Iran will say they’ve violated the agreement and close the strait again.

Nah, I don't think so. With all the sanctions removed and the release of frozen Iranian funds, Iran will continue to fund Lebanon to fight off the IDF. Iran will keep the Strait open unless and until the US puts sanctions back on them or attacks them, whichever happens first.

The problem is this is just so much worse than just cutting the losses. It really signals how weak the US is now. It's amazing at how.much Trump has ruined the US in such a short period of time.

Starting the war because of pressure or blackmail from another world leader is not the only reason Trump started this war. He also started it because of his deep, years-long pathological jealousy of Barack Hussein Obama. He truly must have believed that he was going to solve the Iran problem in two days and would best Obama somehow. The Democratic Party needs to hire whoever handled Iran's PR during this war. It was masterful. The Democratic Party sucks at getting its message out and has been since Clinton.
