I posted this question in the health and beauty forum yesterday and now realize it's probably a better fit for this forum.
Would love to hear others' experiences of pilates reformer. Did you like it? Did you see results? If so, what? Thanks! |
Bump. Old thread, but I had the same question so...
|
| I would love to know as well. I have a friend who has a low cost - Costco one at home and that is her only form of exercise. I think she does it for 30 minutes a day. She looks fab! She's not a skinny minny but she is shapely and toned looking. There is a studio by me that offers unlimited group pilates equiptment classes for 99 dollars. I plan on doing that and if I like it I may buy a low cost reformer. |

I just to mat pilates and I get a killer work out. As far as it "working" to get the body you want you have to combine exercise and a strict diet plan. However as far as my abs go, they are incredibly strong. I could probably hold a plank for 5 minuets.
My good friend only did reformer and then tried Mat with my instructor and said the work out was much harder than on the reformer. |
|
I would love an at home reformer but wondering about the quality?
I have done mat for years, love it but never tried a reformer due to the cost of the classes. |
| Any Recs for DVDs? |

I've had great experiences with Pilates, both mat and reformer workouts. It's improved my posture and helped my core strength. I've actually had the best workouts on another piece of equipment, called the Cadillac, because (I believe) you can target pretty much every body part. The Reformer is a somewhat more limited.
As for "results", the only thing that has helped me in that department is cutting out empty calories. |
| Thanks PP - will look for a Cadillac! |
