Gym Pricing

I recently was looking at changing gyms and did some research. It was a bit maddening not being able to get a direct answer to "how much does it cost" without going in and getting the full sales pitch. I figured I'd put the answers here to what I found and see if others would do the same to add some transparency.

Lifetime Louden: $132 a month for a couple and $6 per kid

Lifetime Reston: $220 a month for a couple and $30 92 hour limit) or $90 (3 hour limit and access to a subset of the activities) per kid

Sport & health Worldgate: $89 a month for family

Olympic (sterling): $10 per month basic and $20 for expanded access

Anybody have any other numbers?

Holy sh-t - we pay $130/mo for a couple at Sport and Health Bethesda - I guess we are getting ripped off! Where is S&h Worldgate?

Anyone know what LA fitness in the Dulles mall is going for?

Don't know about that location but in my neighborhood memberships at LA fitness were going for around $30 a month. Their thing is that there's no contract.

Gym managers also don't disclose that they sometime take organizational discounts so check on that.

To be honest, it can depend on what rep you get at the same location. We looked into LA Fitness in Gaithersburg. I went in myself and was given substantially different pricing than when hubby and I went in together. I do not know if it was the first rep was trying to rip off, or he thought he could get away with something with me that he would not with a man. Decided against it b/c the babysitting looked like a nightmare and there are a bunch of bad reviews on Yelp, including about thefts (both from lockers and cars).
