Need to jumpstart a weight loss plan. I know diet pills should not be used but I need the incentive, its been years since i have done this. Any good diet pills out there worth trying? Problem is I love food, cooking,etc...so I need a major appetite suppressant!
I know I know, exercise and eat right, I am doing that but also need something to turn off my appetite! |
| Please don't do it. Can you fill up on vegetables? |
|
Agreed, don't do the pills. Are you eating enough and doing higher intensity workouts? Slow weightloss and making sure you eat enough is really the best, healthiest way, and most likely to ensure you keep it off.
At best, pills are a temporary quick fix do not contribute to lasting weight loss. At worst, they will seriously damage your body. |

Cook healthier options?

| I took small doses of ephedrine until I started getting palpitations. Stopped them and started tracking calories and lost the weight that way. Don't take them, most of them have stimulants that are hard on your heart. |
+1. Took phentermine and it was very effective, however, wonder about the heart issues and would not chance it now that I'm older. Also, had problems with nosebleeds. Just get into a program that is structured and gives you accountability. Ultimately one needs to change their outlook towards food Best of luck! |
| water, water, water. Drink a lot of water. A full glass before each meal and snack. Another during the eating. Bite of food, sip or two of water. repeat. |
| OP, have you looked into Advocare? Particularly the 21 day challenge. |
| No what is advocare? I am desperate......please tell me about it. The thing is I dont' want to take diet pills but I am constantly hungry! I cannot imagine dieting always being hungry..its horrible! Yet I feel so down on myself for having gained 30 lbs I cant stand it! |
|
12:19 again, Sorry I mistyped. It's actually 24 days.
http://www.advocare.com/products/trim/99038.aspx I have not tried it but have several friends and family members who have had great (long term, even) success with it. Good luck! |
How much water are you drinking? many people struggling with diet (myself included) confuse thirst with hunger. sounds silly, but true. drink more water. we're talking a gallon a day. |
| Myfitnesspal. Count your calories. No pain no gain. Be hungry and accept it. Work out. Stick with it and your body will adjust, takes like 2 weeks. |
|
OP,
If you are constantly hungry have you had your thyroid checked? Also, you mentioned that you loved food and feel desperate. Have you considered seeing a therapist to help you change your relationship with how you view food? Is there some event coming up that you want to lose weight for? Fast, short term practices usually ends up in mostly losing water weight and aren't effective in the long term. So take the pressure off yourself. |
| Adderall. Ritalin. Vyvanse. |
| This is going to sound bad but you just have to work on your will power. Believe me, I have the same issue. I was 297 pounds just under 4 years ago. I refuse to starve myself to lose weight but I did have to cut back some, cut out some stuff, and I work out a lot to make up the difference. Managed to get down 120 pounds. You can do it OP. |
