Slavery? Really?

The envy of some white women towards black women who are the object of a white man's desire. Yes, really.

You sound kinda racist tbh. I would suggest you try not to view everything in life through the prism of race. That’s what racists do.

Not PP but with respect to what she(?) is saying about slavery has been extensively researched and published. There was very, very widespread rape of enslaved African woman during slavery that, at least in the south, continued until maybe the 1950s (because black women couldn’t exactly expect a jury of their peers).

Feel free to start a thread about enslaved African women if you’d like. I don’t think it’s particularly relevant to the plight of an incredibly privileged and enormously wealthy, white-passing Hollywood starlet. But I’m sure Meghan, who enjoys nothing more than to embrace a narrative of victimhood for herself, would love the comparison!

White-passing? She's half-white; no need to pass. You can't help yourself. Must make you sick to see her success. Good lol

People who look white generally experience less racism than people who don’t. If this is news to you, I’d recommend you educate yourself before weighing in further on the subject of racism.

I'm black; I'm hip. The question is whether or not you are, cause you missed my point.

Oh are you the poster who claims not to know what “immense racism” means? Which word is giving you the most trouble - “immense” or “racism”? Remember, Google is your friend.

I know! Why is Meghan so spiteful and angry toward the Queen and the Cambridges. I don't get it. And Harry, how could he do that to his family?

Do what?

Get a job? Several jobs?

Pay for his own house?

Prioritize having security for his only son?

Not allow his wife to be abused by his family & their media handlers?

You cannot be serious. Go on Oprah and paint your entire family as racist? Let his "sister" Kate be painted in that light, knowing she wouldn't respond? Go on an Oprah when you know your "beloved" grandfather is terminally ill in hospital? Tell the world that your father is not returning your phone calls (although this backfired as it showed that Harry was continually begging him for money). No one forced them to buy an $11 million home in California that they couldn't afford.

And why was Harry too ashamed to get Meghan the help he needed? Where was Harry's responsibility in all that?

Fair play. The royal family has been throwing his wife under the bus since 2017. You want to talk about the sister-in-law Kate? Her silence on making Meghan cry while immediately sending out a correction on botox speaks volume.

We only have Meghan’s word for what happened, since Kate won’t speak up. And Meghan has already proven herself a liar. Not buying it.

Yet Kate and Co. Spoke up pretty quickly about the Botox. I guess the priorities are clear.

A statement was put out that it never happened. Wanting a tit-for-tat “no, she made ME cry” seems really, really petty.

No. A statement was put out that there was no feud between the duchesses.

That’s very different than saying it never happened. Kate was happy to let Megan take the blame for her own bad behavior. That’s very classless. Meanwhile she insists on an immediate statement that she did NOT get Botox. That says a lot about her character (or lack therof.)

Again, we only have Meghan’s word for this and she’s a proven liar.

What would be her motivation for lying about this very specific offense?

DP. If you couldn’t figure out that Meghan was trying to make the BRF look bad in the Oprah interview, then I’m questioning how you function on a daily basis.

She didn't have to try very hard.

The royal family looked bad before. Their silence spoke volumes.

Even the British parliament spoke up for Meghan Markle! Her family was silent. It’s not a good look.

The BRF did speak up for Meghan. They put forward statements for her.

Beyond that, the usual way that they address problems is with silence. They gave her the same courtesy they give to other members of the family - by being above the media.

You didn't notice any of this...

DP: Yes, silence has often been effective in the face of racism. At least that’s what some people like to claim. /s

DP. In the past few years, Meghan has become enormously powerful, wealthy, and influential. If she’s been suffering from vicious racism this whole time, then lots of us will want to volunteer for some racial discrimination.

It minimizes actual racism when people pretend Meghan has been suffering from immense racism. Many people have experienced serious racism, but their lives don’t look a lot like Meghan’s.

Black woman here. Wtf is immense racism? Stop trying to sound like you care about racism claims.

You really don’t know what immense racism means? If you’re genuinely struggling with what racism is or looks like, plenty of us can suggest resources for you to educate yourself. Just ask for help.

Racism is racism. You sound silly tryjng to debate this fact.

I read lots of books. If you have difficulty understanding terms such as “immense” or “racism,” I’d like to gently suggest that you’re the one who could benefit from more book reading. Reading is one of the best ways to increase your vocabulary.

Huh? The idea that someone who looks like MM faced the same racism as someone who looks like her mother is complete foolishness.
Anyway it’s not racist to think that Harry’s an idiot, which I do. He bungled this in such a ridiculous manner.

Clearly, British Public enjoys and enjoyed Prince Phillip's racist remarks!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/lifestyle-buzz/the-sunday-times-published-a-front-page-story-that-suggested-the-british-public-secretly-enjoyed-prince-philips-racist-remarks/ar-BB1fORac?ocid=uxbndlbing

But, nope, according to dcum racists, none of the vitriol towards Meghan has racist under, overtones!

Not surprised. They're a hypocritical, passive-aggressive nation. Have we forgotten?

Of course not. The Sad reality is that much of the U.S. and many on dcum also admire it and think that he was mostly right.

Actually, quite often the opposite is true. Things can get especially noxious when white people assume a PoC is white-like-them, treat them accordingly, then realize at some point that they’ve treated an “other” as a peer.

— Someone who really does know how this kind of ugliness can play out

DP. No. Light-skinned biracial people do not experience worse racism than darker-skinned black people. Get real.

Meghan markle is gorgeous and extremely light skinned. Agree that if the worst she gets is you don’t get to wear the emerald tiara you can only wear the diamond one than she’s doing fine.

When even Oprah has started to walk back the racism claims makes you wonder
what is in the part of the interview that hasn’t aired.
