But did he actually break any laws over the taxes? I thought people were expecting tax fraud? So far there isn't any that I can tell.

Did you was the whole article?

Yes. And there's nothing to show he broke laws.

I thought the tax returns were supposed to show stuff that he'd go to prison for. Maybe I was wrong. But so far nothing we've seen shows Trump breaking laws. He did file his returns, he didn't commit tax fraud.

Time to wake up. Actually I feel sorry for you.

Patriots,

It's time to start a GoFundMe for President Trump. He is broke and needs our help. MAGA!

Trump lied in his financial disclosures.

"In 2018, for example, Mr. Trump announced in his disclosure that he had made at least $434.9 million. The tax records deliver a very different portrait of his bottom line: $47.4 million in losses."

But he will say we are losers, just like those died in the wars.

1. The idiocy on displayed here by those who hate Trump is real
2. Trump will win in 5 weeks despite attempts by many.

You know, if Trump had released his tax returns as a candidate, when he was supposed to, we idiots wouldn't be displaying our idiocy right now.

The story would be over. Or ... Trump would be in jail right now...

Yup. I’m sure a good tax accountant could find a bunch of discrepancies and outright misreporting on Trump’s returns in one business day. He’s not known for hiring the best help.

Already answered, he donates his salary so no taxes are due on it.

To whom does he donate his salary? With very limited exceptions, charitable contributions are limited to 50% of your AGI.

I am not sure if it is one single entity, but department of health and human services is one I remember.

He gives back his government paychecks to government agencies. They’re not charities.

For purposes of a charitable deduction, they are the same. Please refer to IRC Pub. 526 - Publication 526 (2019), Charitable Contributions

"Organizations That Qualify To Receive Deductible Contributions
The United States or any state, the District of Columbia, a U.S. possession (including Puerto Rico), a political subdivision of a state or U.S. possession, or an Indian tribal government or any of its subdivisions that perform substantial government functions. (Your contribution to this type of organization is deductible only if it is to be used solely for public purposes.)""

For those of you paying attention, that's called "underrporting income to the IRS."

My idiot stepfather who never made more than the high 5 figures went to federal prison for 18 months for that. And I'm guessing he underreported his income by a bit less than Trump did.

Don’t worry the NYT has weeks of reveals left. I, for one, want to know who owns the $421 million in debt.

Oh man! Hurry up NYT.

What makes real estate such an awesome investment is you can be “profitable” (i.e. have positive cash flow and be putting money in your pocket), while using primarily depreciation (and some other expenses) to reduce the taxable income to almost nothing or even show a loss.

Doing so for 20 years moves people from the category of tax avoidance to tax cheat

Then how come no charges? I think this is a nothing burger. Nobody cares. Hot air bs. Another rich scam artist, tell us something we don't already know.

He's been in trouble with the IRS for a decade...

Right... and yet, no charges.

He's been POTUS for the last four. I'm guessing there wasn't a lot of motivation in the IRS to file against him since 2016.

That means nothing. Tax avoidance/fraud by high net worth individuals is very costly for the IRS to prosecute. It’s costly and they’ve been defunded (by Republicans) for more than a decade so that their manpower is limited. Trump has an army of lawyers (some now paid by the RNC and the US taxpayer) to combat the limited government resources. And let’s not forget that Trump is now POTUS and can easily retaliate against the IRS.

How much should he have paid?

Probably more than $750.

How much though. I need to know how triggered I should get

On a HHI of $300,000, we paid $59,000. Extrapolate up or down based on whether you think Trump is a billionaire or broke AF.
