And as the cherry on top, he didn’t even comply with the toothless law that is supposed to prevent insider trading y members of Congress. |
Every time I see this thread bumped I hope Kevin McCarthy has put his foot down and told Maddy to resign. But that would take resolve, which Quevin doesn’t have. |
Anyone else thinking the GOP is behind this? He is such an embarrassment and perhaps they were looking for the final nail? |
Behind which part? Do you think they doctored his financial disclosures so it looked like he didn’t disclose his let’s go Brandon cryptocurrency, or is the video of the male scheduler touching his crotch a deep fake? Or did they plant guns on him twice as he was going through security at the airport? They might be leaking the stuff, but he’s behind this nonsense, giving them stuff to leak. |
I meant behind this latest leak. Yes, the behavior is ALL his own. |
DP. Of course the GOP is behind it. But Cawthorne is too stupid to realize you can’t do this stuff as an elected official and then go around alienating people. No one will keep their mouth shut about your skeletons forever. |
I'm absolutely positive it's the GOP. This isn't a competitive district for the Dems. Not to say they wouldn't love him gone - but not worth the effort to replace him with someone who won't be much different policy-wise and will cause less embarrassment to the GOP. Also, keep in mind that when he was in the primary two years ago, he defeated a friend of Mark Meadows' wife who Meadows had endorsed. So I'm guessing there is pretty much no one in the party outside the Crazy Caucus who likes him and many people who despise him. |
I don't really get that. All the sordid stuff about Trump was well known to everyone - and there was a pretty big push by the GOP to get rid of him before he was elected...including major party figures refusing to endorse him. The reason Trump was elected and is still loved is because a large chunk of the base is all kinds of cray-cray. |
Yup. Cawthorne is all baggage and no benefit to the GOP. They'll happily accept the baggage is you also bring benefit. But Cawthorne does not. |
Ummmm it’s not just his base. |
I think part of the twitterer’s point is that there was WAY more oppo. Anyone else find it offensive that the GOP is likelier to boot this loser for being gay than for trying to overthrow the government? |
