I love prince Charles and lady Di equally |
I am interested in them (minus art history)...but not enough to take a week off work and travel to see/experience them. |
I totally agree about foreign travel. I have no interest; however, I would love to see this huge country in which we live. |
I used to think foreign travel was overrated and set about seeing the USA. Now that I have seen this country (well, 42/50 states, anyway), I have changed my mind. I really want to see the rest of the world, and regret not doing it before I settled down. |
I think it's stupid to spend a ton of money to live in a top school district rather than spending the money on private school. If you lose your job, it's easier to pull the kids from private for a while than it is to make giant mortgage payments while you look for a new job. And privates are almost always better than even the good publics in that you can find a good fit for your kid, and have much more say over their education. |
Travel isn't just about "seeing" things. I don't travel as much as I used to, but when I did, I preferred Europe/the UK. It's not that there aren't beautiful things to see in the USA. It's the social culture/atmosphere. There are parts (not all) of Europe and the UK where it just feels more laid back, less puritanical. I feel like in the US, there are laid-back places, but they are laid back in a hippy/new agey/health nazi way. But it's different in certain parts of Europe/UK. And when I had vacation time, I wanted to go somewhere why I could feel a certain way and have a bit of a break. |
How can you be interested in architecture but not art history? The two are totally conflated. I hope one day you'll be able to take a week off of work to see Europe. It's worth it. |
I refuse to let public schools become dumping grounds for the disenfranchised. My kids go to public and they'll be absolutely fine. They have cultural capital. Meanwhile they're learning that not everyone in this world is rich and white. |
I send my child to Catholic schools because I want them to learn their faith during the daytime, every day, and not just one hour per week in the afternoon after a long, hard day at regular school. This is no bash on the public school system. Your child, I am sure, is doing fine in the public school system. But they do not teach Catholicism there (I totally get why) so that is why we made the decision to send our kids to Catholic school. It's not a slam on you OR the public schools. |
Hi Kristen Stewart's mom! |
I totally agree. It's a whole different vibe. And I love it. |
Not PP, but I'm interested in architecture 1000000x more than art. I travel to Europe fairly frequently but don't usually hit many art museums. To me some (most?) artwork is appreciated just as well in a high-quality art book vs in person. Architecture though is best appreciated in person to fully appreciate scale, space, etc FWIW, I got an Arch History minor in college. |
I believe that certain people should be sterilized to decrease poverty.
I believe that people shouldn't have children out of wedlock. Men who don't pay child support or leave women with children should be castrated. It is not the government's responsibility to raise your child. If you can't afford to raise a child, then you should not have them. Monsters who rape women and children should be castrated and burn to death. I think that organized religion is the most destructive thing on the planet earth. I fully support gentrification in DC. It's time to rid this city of the riff raff. I hate pets. Pet owners are so annoying. I hate Metro and I love my car. Public schools are going downhill due to the increase of FARM students and ESL students. Abortion is an absolute evil that must exist to rid society from unwanted children and children born into poverty. I hate immigrants who come to the USA and refuse to assimilate. Either assimilate or go the fuck home to your own country. We need to stop catering to immigrants. I think football is a homothug sport. It's a way for in the closet gay men to pretend how manly they are. |
I think healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. I would be happy to have another percent or two taken from my paycheck to ensure every legal citizen in our country has healthcare.
I think we should do away with capital gains tax, make everything taxable income (as it should be). |
What is the criteria for the certain people? |
