That's awesome. Do these kids get admitted to Atlanta or Oxford or both?

60-70- Atlanta

10-15- Oxford

My child was just offered Atlanta as a freshman. They didn't check the Oxford box when they submitted their application. That said, I think the Oxford start seems to be a great option and everyone I talk to says it leads to deep friendship and community.

They say "We encourage students to ensure that their email contact information is accurate and to monitor their inboxes regularly. As the waitlist process evolves, we will continue to update our candidates on the waitlist via email"

Why via email and not update on the application portal?. What if the email ends up in spam folder?

yes. look at the dean J blog from yesterday: they accepted 260 total from the arts and sci plus engineering. it's the largest pull off the WL UVA has done in years. There are usually more in 2-3 weeks in years where it is this large, but it will be small.

I know a MCPS kid who was accepted off of the waitlist.

This is so weird to me, because our good family friend's kid will be attending Emory Oxford (was not admitted to Atlanta) as an RD admit, but he would love to be able to attend Atlanta instead. Not sure why a waitlisted candidate should get into Atlanta over my friend's kid.

If they dont have the space, then they dont have the space. Why is that weird?.

+1 They take so much of their class ED too. What other schools are people going to? Duke and Cornell I can understand because a lot of kids will go to top tier Ivies, but Williams and Amherst seem like the type of schools that have a strong yield.

Our CCO said that WLs are very strange this year. They expect a busy May and early June.
