WM never does, VT maybe? But probably not with their overadmitting issues in years past

VT won't be before 5/1 either.

UC waitlists start moving mid April to May. DS got waitlisted at all the mid tiers UCSD UCD, UCSB and UCI and then got off all waitlists in the rolling waves.

How does movement work exactly? If your kid was waitlisted somewhere and sent a LOCI or filled out form, do they just get an email saying guess what, you're now in? Or is there some other notification?

U Chicago has been moving last week.

BU is calling up our private school to ask school counselor which students they think would accept off the waitlist if given an offer.

WashU moved. Several from our private got a call. Counselor was alerted first.

Daughter is on the Duke waitlist, accepted her spot, but hasn't submitted a LOCI. Should I encourage her to do so? She doesn't really have anything else to share at this point.

Tough to imagine admitting someone at the final stage who hasn't bothered to express continued interest - I'd encourage her to do so.

You generally get an email that says you have an update in your portal.

Or sometimes you get a call or email from the admissions officer and they say "if we were to offer you a space would you take it?"

Almost always it's the first (email about a portal update) but my daughter had the second happen last year as well.

Yes bc it moved last year…. And you don’t get a call without an update.

Think of it as another why me at Duke letter. Update re summer plans, final grades, end of school year happenings
