Will school weapon detections cause class time delay?

That sounds like a lot more money and people. They don't have either.

They can't get more kids in the door in time for class to start. They'd rather have kids outside the school every day for an hour? That doesn't make sense either. If the priority is to have metal detectors then they're going to have to have enough to get kids in the building. Or get rid of the metal detectors. Or only screen random kids.

Nobody wanted these metal detectors. I have no evidence, but I'm guessing someone is getting fat payments off these things.

The schools need to open the doors earlier.

You are out to lunch then. This could not have been due to metal detectors bc Chantilly has not yet started the metal detectors. So your child was just plain late.

The only school that should have it is the school where the knife fight occurred. Thanks to the gang members we are all punished now.

My kid told me the only weapon issue he ever saw was a kid who fashioned a knife out of scissors and chased after another student. Probably the teacher's scissors, would be my guess.

Not the PP but I was told all FCPS high schools and middle schools started today? Is this incorrect and if so why is Chantilly not starting?

West Springfield High School apparently doesn't get them until September 2nd -- that was the word at the day last week where kids got their schedules and walked the halls..

It said all will get them in the fall but doesn’t specify the day. They have not been installed or used yet at Chantilly. I was told in 3 weeks they will start. So how was a child that got dropped off at 7:35 am almost late to class when they aren’t screening yet?

Robinson won’t have them for a few weeks either.

McLean High sent an email informing the parents that weapons detection will start from Sept. 2nd.

Did they really delete photos from their facebook replies?!

Fairfax had them running today. LBSS, WSHS and Robinson did not.

They need to adjust class start times then. Have a homeroom that runs for 30 minutes before sending everyone to first period. Shave time off the stupid SEL lessons.

I thought Madison was starting from their emails but my kid said they delayed it until a future week. I don’t know if that’s rumor or truth but they walked in without removing anything.
