+1 it doesn’t matter what the truth is, it will be a nightmare of inflammatory rhetoric.

But getting the far left to show up and vote isn’t really the strategy, this isn’t a primary. Nor do they need to persuade Trump voters. They need to get high propensity suburban voters who are in in 5-6 states, where only one Israel will be a real issue (Michigan). The anti-Israel fanatics aren’t much of a factor in the general election. That’s primary thinking.

Even in Michigan, Harris is already up by more than 4 points. She doesn't automatically lose Michigan if she picks Shapiro. And if Arab-Americans and progressives think Trump and Vance are going to be better allies against Israel, well, I don't know what to say.

+1 And with all the talk about the Arab American voters in Michigan, there are a lot more Jewish voters in Michigan.

Most Arab Americans support Israel in the war against Hamas. Only the low IQ terror-minded Arab Americans support Hamas. We shouldn't be as concerned as we are about losing the Arab American vote just because of a few stupid college kids protesting.

Josh is that you? This is the mentality of the Shapiro voter.

It hasn’t been announced yet. I wonder what the Arizona Senator’s hesitation is about…

Shapiro wouldn't be my first choice for VP. I'm simply pointing out the fact that we are making a bigger deal out of this Jewish vs Arab vibe in the 2024 election. Most Jews and Arabs living in the US with voting eligibility in 2024 are intelligent, well versed in the history of the ME region, and have a big picture world view that allows them to see this conflict as clearly and objectively as most of the non Jewish and Arab Americans do. It's the very small minority of extremist spreading the obnoxious and divisive rhetoric that makes it seem like a more problematic divide in this country than it really is. I know plenty of Arab people. They want to see Hamas destroyed with as little harm to the non-Hamas supporting Palestinians as possible. I know plenty of Jewish people. They want the same. It's an insult to the intelligence and integrity of American Jews and Arabs to think that a large portion of them aren't capable of seeing this conflict for what it is.

The percentage of Arab American who support Israel approaches 0%. And the vast majority loathes Hamas. But close to 100% support the Palestinian people, especially at this time those being bombed and starved to death in Gaza.

They are too battle-minded to be able to establish a peaceful homeland of their own.”

Wow racist much? Shapiro claims he is a former IDF soldier. Is this true? If so what unit did he served with and at what time? Many of the IDF units have long documented history of crimes. Was he stationed in the West Bank? It would be important to know if he was committing crimes against humanity

No, this is yet more disinformation.

“While he was in high school, Josh Shapiro was required to do a service project, which he and several classmates completed through a program that took them to a kibbutz in Israel where he worked on a farm and at a fishery,” Bonder told the outlet, and later confirmed with The Daily Beast.

“The program also included volunteering on service projects on an Israeli army base. At no time was he engaged in any military activities,” Bonder added.

Your assumption that Arab Americans are too dumb and hate filled to support the Israeli people after the Hamas terror attack last year is a very poor assumption. The obnoxious extremist with the loudest voices are what you hear but they are the minority. No one is happy with the sloppy war waged by the Israeli Government and IDF that has caused the deaths of many innocent people but most of us are capable of separating our disdain for horrible governments from how we feel about the private citizens of a country. You'd be amazed at how warm and friendly the majority of people in China, Russia, and Iran are.

Way to twist. I said nothing about the Israeli people. I said Israel, meaning its longstanding governmental policies of systematically suppressing and jailing Palestinians and expropriating or destroying their land, their houses, and even their olive trees continuously for the last 66 years.

+1000.

And most people are intelligent enough to realize that a currently bad government doesn’t mean country should be wiped off the face of the map. Hating Netanyahu does not mean supporting the destruction of Israel. This is why every single current candidate is a Zionist, because in the real world that actually means someone who supports safety for Israel. In the far left antioziosphere it’s been twisted to mean “loves slaughtering innocent Arabs!!! Has a big nose and fangs dripping with blood!!!” But most people are not that dumb and manipulative.

I’m sure glad the world didn’t decide to wipe the US off the face of the map because we had a terrible president in 2016…

Anyway, polling is a better indication of how people feel about issues than reading online commentary. A certain percentage of that comes from outside the US, and most of the rest is the nonrepresentative terminally online chattering classes.

If you disagree because of cable news stories you've exposed yourself to or some obnoxious people posting on political blogs, you need to befriend and talk to more American Arabs and Jews. If your anecdotal experience from interactions with American Arabs and Jews has formed your opinion that presumably is that a majority of them aren't on the same page with eliminating Hamas while sparing the lives of innocent Palestinians, then your experience is different than mine and it is what it is. I still think my experience is more of representation of how the majority of American Jews and Arabs view the conflict in Gaza.
